    Smart illumination set up new cameras

    Have you tried updating the firmware on the NVR? Maybe it's not grabbing the settings from the camera being a newer model. Otherwise as suggested web interface is the best, or if the camera is on the local network add it directly in the app to access the illumination settings.

    Ouch! And unobstructed view of the area they're monitoring, Dahua cameras really love being elevated, detection range increases when elevated, not always ideal especially down sides of homes but tis what it is.

    We use the 180 with building sites using solar rigs. Very effective. These cameras love to be elevated with no obstruction. Limitation is 10-12m detection range.

    I find the single intrusion zones to be very effective. If a person isn't being detected then it's outside of the cameras detection range or bad lighting.

    Did you enable intrusion alarm not motion detection? its not a problem to run SMD and IVS at the same time in my experience. If you want notifications from the intrusion zone on IVS you need to enable intrusion alarm for notificaitons only.

    The pro isn't out until late August here in Australia and a contact at Dahua UK hasn't heard of the Pro yet so its coming but no one seems to know much about it yet, none of the official UK or Aus Dahua reps anyway (not that, that says much Dahua is terrible at communication).

    Dahua IPC-HDW3549TM-AS-LED fluctuates dims / brightens during recording.

    To fix this problem I have hit default on image settings multiple times and then apply. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not and I need to mess about with the settings maxing them out and enabling SSA etc until it sorts itself out. Once its fixed it doesn't seem to return.

    New hikvision nvr won't boot

    Download the SADP tool from the Hikvision website. Make sure your pc is on the same network. If nothing appears then its probably dead. You can even hardwire yourself into the NVR and see if the SADP tool picks up anything.
