    I'm not worried about them getting damaged as he will be paying for them. I was just wondering if a laser would damage a 4MP Dahua quicker than some cheaper camera. He has major issues, very jealous.

    I think only the 2.8 is available. You could set the default zoom at something less wide as it will default back to that after power loss once programmed I believe.

    I have done a ping for packet loss on the cameras and NVR, zero packets lost. I thought I'd test just to see what happened, just in case. I still have to test the VBR thing, I have to find a time to test it, too much going on to chance missing important details. EDIT: I did test the VBR setting...

    If you don't get any answers or solution, you could do a factory reset on the NVR and see if it pops up. I wouldn't imagine it would, but you never know.

    That's why it's good to have motion setup in certain areas, even if it doesn't alert you while it's happening, you can review the motion timeline, or the logs and see if anything went on. I always look at my cameras every few minutes, I've had the timing just right and spotted alot of things...

    Got my Dahua 4MP IPC-HDBW4421R-AS 2.8mm

    My Dahua 16ch NVR's fan is noisy with the case lid on, but if you remove the lid you can't even hear the fan with your head next to it. I guess it's the tunnel/vacuum pull with the case lid on.
