    DS-7732ni-i4/24p with no password

That would be my choice of method. You'd need an RS232 (not TTL serial) interface, probably with a null modem cable, to connect to the DB9 connector on the back panel. And a normal tftp server such as this one : https://pjo2.github.io/tftpd64/ And a serial terminal program such as PuTTY...

    Same Hikvision Camera/Code but different

I believe the suffix letter in the round brackets at the end of the model number denotes differences in internal hardware, apparently due to supply chain issues. This is why there are firmware variations for apparently the same model. Do both cameras have the (C) suffix at the end of the model...

    R0 / DS-2CD2x32 BrickfixV2 brick recovery and full upgrade tool - enhanced.

The PoE switch can get in the way of the slightly marginal timing of the Hikvision tftp updater tool. It works best when powering the camera with a 12v supply, and with the camera and PC on their own ports on a switch / router.

Can't find the serial connection on this camera!!!

Well done! And as said by @SpacemanSpiff thanks for sharing the journey.

What step have you tried so far?

Can't find the serial connection on this camera!!!

That's disappointing! The firmware update went OK but erasing the config partition wasn't part of the process. A slight long shot suggestion : Interrupt the bootloader and at the command prompt, use the command help which should list the available bootloader commands. With luck there may be one...

Can't find the serial connection on this camera!!!

Very likely - it looks like the connector hasn't been part of the build. Suggestion - you can check that it is the serial console connector without damaging the USB to TTL serial adaptor if you initially connect it up with RX and GND only, that way the TX won't get damaged if it's connected to...

    R0 / DS-2CD2x32 BrickfixV2 brick recovery and full upgrade tool - enhanced.

Well done for sorting that out. I have a vague recollection that on that firmware ONVIF is a standard feature that does not need to be explicitly enabled. How are you testing for ONVIF capability? If you haven't already tried it, ONVIF Device Manager (sourceforge) works well to find ONVIF devices.

    R0 / DS-2CD2x32 BrickfixV2 brick recovery and full upgrade tool - enhanced.

These may be Chinese cameras, in which case they will reject EN/ML firmware. This can probably be confirmed by checking the letters in the serial number - can you supply a sample? If so, the brickfix method could be used to change the camera region / language. The language can also be...

    DS-2CD1367G2H-LIU to DS-2CD1367G2H-LIUF firmware upgrade

The specific hardware capabilities of the camera are written into a device description block during manufacture, in a secure way. It's not about applying different firmware to activate different features, the features are hard-coded into the device.

Hikvision Emergency Firmware Recovery TFTP (2024)

That's not correct - the unzipped firmware file does not need renaming, and will be digicap.dav Some later, but still old, models of camera probe for the updater on 192.168.1.128 At which point, for the first time it's run, there should be a Windows security pop-up asking if access to the PC...

Initial review of the DS-2CD2347G2-L(U) ColorVu 2.0 IP camera.

Possibly the wrong firmware for that camera model. We could maybe check with a link to the firmware you downloaded.

    LOST password on Dahua nvr4108-8P-4ks2/L

Dumb question(s) : Both the VGA and HDMI outputs? And what about LAN access to the web GUI - does the device show up on your router device list / does the link detect LED show a connection on whatever (router / switch) you've connected it up to / can you see it on the Config tool?

    Reset password camera ds-2cd1123g0-i

The hope and expectation is that applying firmware via the tftp updater usually resets the device settings to default values, so you can then set your own password. To avoid complications like blocking downgrades, too many jumps on upgrades, try to simply re-install the same version of firmware...

    Reset password camera ds-2cd1123g0-i

Not ideal, agreed, but not a problem being visible, possibly a problem if one of them restarts or is rebooted and accesses the tftp server and attempts the firmware download instead of the camera. Yes, that would work. Connecting both the PC and the camera to their own switch ports means that...

    Reset password camera ds-2cd1123g0-i

That means it's waiting for a probe from a device that's powering on. The Hikvision tftp updater does not work well when the PC and device are directly connected, the link detect timing is too marginal. Best to connect both devices to their own ports on the switch or router.

Do you think this is a sketchy?

Yes, that was a brilliant infiltration with brilliant consequences. And dropping a few memory sticks in an organisation's car park used to be one of the steps to evaluate a company's IT security effectiveness by seeing how many phoned home.

Do you think this is a sketchy?

And maybe chuck it at VirusTotal out of curiosity if you feel you have a safe way to just handle it as a file.
