    The easiest way to connect Hikvision cameras to a Hikvision NVR is to reset the camera to an 'inactive' state, then connect the camera to an NVR PoE port that's in Plug&Play mode. The NVR will 'activate' the camera and connect it automatically.

    It used to be, way back, that ONVIF could be used as a workaround to the 'language mismatch' problem, with some reduced smart event capability. But, depending on the firmware version of the NVR, Hikvision blocked that route for Chinese cameras on an English NVR. Worth trying though.
