Review: IDahua DH-ITC-437-PW6M-IZ-GN / LPR-437 - ALPR/ANPR - Traffic & Access Control Camera

Do the ANPR cameras like this require an NVR or can they be set up to send/store plate matches somewhere else like on an sd card or uploaded to an ftp server?

Has anyone tried this firmware with this camera? I'm wondering if this addresses any of the oddities with the review/playback from SD card.

I use my two 437s with BI. Acts very much like an ordinary camera except the license plates are much better at night than I was able to ever get with the 5231-Z12s.

The cameras are sending images to a Synology NAS ftp server with the license plate information included as part of the file name. On the camera, under Storage - ftp I include the license platen the file name using the %09 macro. The full file name on my Mac is </Volumes/SecurityCameras/AlertImages/ANPRs/2023-11-28/ANPR on 2023-11-28 @ 02.13.28 by 137 Cam 9DGF668.jpg>. I can search the filenames for plates.

I've been in contact with Andy about the firmware for the 437. The firmware my camera shipped with is dated 2023-02-04. It uses the old interface and generally works fine.
There are three other firmware files released since--one from April 2023, another from July 2023, and most recent is from September 2023. Andy doesn't have any more stock of the 437 camera so he can't test them.

The three firmware files after the 2023-02-04 version use the 5.0 GUI. The July and September 2023 files have an updated plate algorithm based on the system info. When I flashed them, the files flashed fine but I wasn't able to get the snapshots to appear in my browser in realtime and the ANPR events weren't registering on the SD card (manual snaps, though, appeared in the snap window and recorded on the SD card). Admittedly, I didn't do extensive testing to fix. I ended up rolling back to the 2023-02-04 firmware with the old interface.

If anyone wants these files Andy has them or message me and I'll send a link to you to download. I also have the 2023-02-04 firmware file if anyone needs it.

I got that September 15th one from @Billyjack5 and uploaded it to my camera, first impressions are that the v5 stuff for this camera probably isn't quite ready yet. I made a quick and dirty video that shows how it looks and some of the initial findings:

I got the new ITC413 but the 8-32mm lens is not enough for my use case and I wonder if there is a newer 437 coming out with +50mm of range?

10-50mm is the right one, i sold 10pcs of this one, work really good.
