    Quick question about configtool.

Ah, maybe your right. Just an odd place for it to be... Andy also replied to my email and confirms that P is for PAL and N is for NTSC. Thanks!

    Quick question about configtool.

I'm initializing some new cameras and on the page where you provide the login information at the bottom under email for password recovery there's a drop down for P/N. You can choose either P or N, but I have no idea what each one means. I've searched online, Dahua Wiki and the configtool...

    Disable ALG in router?

Hello all. Now that my security cameras are up and running I started hardening my network. I disabled UPnP in my router. I only saw two addresses using it at the time, neither of which was the NVR and thought it would break a lot of things like my VOIP service, etc, but... it didn't. In...

Tips on how to mount bullet camera on soffit for aiming?

Thanks guys. It looked like it should have been able to rotate along the base, but it wasn't for me. It was just really, really hard even with the adjustment screw all the way out, but it clicks around. Thanks again!

Tips on how to mount bullet camera on soffit for aiming?

I have some Lorex LNB8111-C bullet cameras. I'm wanting to mount them under the soffit, but I'll only be able to adjust the pitch of the camera. It doesn't twist side to side when in that position. Do they make a box or something that I can mount to the camera to that will allow it to twist...

    Motorcycle "Dash Cam"

In addition to issues you've already described about a dash cam setup, I think another reason why most people use helmet cams rather than dash cams for motorcycles is that the camera looks where they look. If it's mounted to the bike and you look at something to your left or right then it's...

    Optiplex Motherboard Form Factor

Here is a link to the service manual with an image of the motherboard. You may be able to determine what form factor it is by the screw mounts if it's not proprietary. OptiPlex 5050 Tower Owner's Manual

    Dude with a pistol

I stand corrected. When you said, "gunfire" I took that as somebody being shot. I would never unholster my weapon unless I was prepared to use it and I would never carry my gun if I wasn't.

    Dude with a pistol

Actually, those are lumped into the gun violence statistics as well as suicide by a firearm and even police using a firearm against a criminal.

Need advice on New IP Cam set-up (particularly NVR)

It's because you are shopping for Cat6A. Is there a reason you need Cat6A vs regular Cat6?

Need advice on New IP Cam set-up (particularly NVR)

Just one more suggestion. If you are pulling your own cable, get a couple of 500' boxes rather than one 1000 ft. That way you can pull more than one cable at a time. It will cost a few bucks more but the time savings is worth it.

    ID distance of Lorex LNB8111B?

Just an update. I picked up a couple of 16mm lenses for a couple of the cameras. I swapped one out. Man that glue is tough on the original lens. Replacement screwed in without issue.

A mistake is an accident. This was a premeditated act done on purpose. Glad he paid for it.

tinyCam + Fire TV = popup on motion detection work in progress

That's cool! I use Kodi and will check into this as soon as I get everything up and going. I have a doorbell, but for some reason everybody insists on knocking. I watch my movies pretty loud, so I never hear it. Popup on motion at the front door would be helpful. Thanks for sharing.

    Suggested App for Lorex NVR?

I setup the VPN on my QNAP NAS. I used OpenVPN. The VPN works fine. The Lorex app works fine, but there's only an option to use my Lorex online account. I'm presuming regardless if I'm using the VPN or not, it's going out to Lorex and back in as there's no options for me to setup the IP of...
