Need your feedback for these two Empire NVRs

What type of UPS...the sine wave ones or the boxy ones will do?

Need help with powering the Reolink RLC-811A

Yep, just learned about that from another thread. Still wondering why Toons and others are livid about the brand, not just the cameras. Back to the switches...these Reolink switches are not proprietary, are they? They will work with other camera brands, right?

Is it because of the stigma that comes with the brand or is there something wrong with the switch? Is it proprietary?

Need help with powering the Reolink RLC-811A

Ok now I get the picture why to stay away from Reolink cameras. :) But that does not explain why to avoid the brand altogether. Their RLA-PS1 POE switches got good reviews on Amazon. Is there a reason to avoid them too? Or, is it just the cameras?

Need your feedback for these two Empire NVRs

Noted. Currently I have 4 cams running on the old NVR and I could see myself adding 1 or 2 more depending on what’s going to happen after November. I will be maxing out at 6 and that is it. Right now I’m eyeballing this Netgear GS308PP 8-port Gig 83W Poe budget. Seems to be a perfect fit for...

Need your feedback for these two Empire NVRs

Yep, more is better I understand. But I’m just not comfortable plugging in non-POE devices to ports that are powerered even with auto-sensing. Gives me the hibbie jibbies. BTW, forgot to take that off my list…my apologies. Anyway, these cameras don’t really need gigabit ports, do they? I know...

Need your feedback for these two Empire NVRs

Hello, I'm planning on getting a replacement for my IVS-deprived NVR42A04-P. Fan noise is top priority so any fan in addition to the case fan is a no-no -- not even a Noctua will convince me. Got 4 cams for now (2 interior Amcrest and 2 exterior 5231s) but probably will be adding a couple more...

    Fanless PoE Switch

Two winters ago, I stopped using our centralized AC-heat pump and never regretted since. Use space heater instead especially those parabolic ones. Right now, I’m just waiting for the central unit to die and replace it with just a conventional one. Don’t ever get suckered into buying a heat pump...

Dahua NVR and Camera Setup - Best Practice

I would put Firmware Updates last...”if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”…is the best practice.

dahua NVR just stopped displaying cameras?? how to fix?

Is that an external POE switch or the POE module for the NVR? What model is your NVR, btw?

    Dahuna NVR comparison

So confusing...it's like flipping a myriad of switches just to get the right combination going. You could probably "chart this up" one day, Steve. ;)

    EmpireTech NV41AI-8P-4KH or NVR8CH-AI

 Reminds me of a t.v. commercial about a "smart" denture or something. Like when does a piece of resin start to think on its own? Duh.

The fog of misconception has been lifted. Everything is crystal clear now. Very much appreciate it, Fish. :thumb:

    EmpireTech NV41AI-8P-4KH or NVR8CH-AI

Good to know they don't overheat. Even if they do, I have always fought the urge to paint them knowing that these camera bodies served as heatsinks to help dissipate internal heat. At one point, I almost did the worse thing that you could ever do which is dip it in plastic (plasti-dip). Glad I...

    EmpireTech NV41AI-8P-4KH or NVR8CH-AI

Heat wise, would that be worrisome enabling AI on the camera? About this NV41A1-8P-4KH... Is this an international model (non-US market)? What is meant by industrial-grade processor and Security Baseline 2.3? Will this recorder run perimeter intrusion, tripwire, abandoned/missing object when...
