Yep, just learned about that from another thread. Still wondering why Toons and others are livid about the brand, not just the cameras. Back to the switches...these Reolink switches are not proprietary, are they? They will work with other camera brands, right?

Is it because of the stigma that comes with the brand or is there something wrong with the switch? Is it proprietary?

Ok now I get the picture why to stay away from Reolink cameras. :) But that does not explain why to avoid the brand altogether. Their RLA-PS1 POE switches got good reviews on Amazon. Is there a reason to avoid them too? Or, is it just the cameras?

Two winters ago, I stopped using our centralized AC-heat pump and never regretted since. Use space heater instead especially those parabolic ones. Right now, I’m just waiting for the central unit to die and replace it with just a conventional one. Don’t ever get suckered into buying a heat pump...

I thought ‘AI‘ is another separate feature with its own set of functions like SMD+. So you can now do AI on the NVR alone with cameras that do not support it? It is my understanding that both the camera and the NVR should have the same feature in order for it to work. BTW, your avatar…I call...

Got 4 of them. Two Amcrest and two Empires. I’m not really into the up to date ones ‘cause I hate anything that has to do with AIs. I just want basic detection (not the motion detection mind you) like perimeter, intrusion, tripwire and the likes.

Okay…so if one wants IVS, the 4xxx series NVRs are therefore not recommended i.e. do not buy? Correct?

I applaud them for listening and addressing our complaints but giving an incomplete/partial fix is not a reason to celebrate. So the PTZ presets came back but where are the rest of the PTZ menus? Come on. Don't release them piecemeal.

Go to the App Store and click on your icon on top right corner to show your purchase history for free apps. Scroll down and you will be able to re-download the app. Yep, the same app they removed from the main store page. Sometimes it pays to be desperate.
