Excessive CPU load with newer versions than 5.8.6.7 version of BI

Yes. Everything including as past 5.8.8.0 eventually dies. I had decided to roll back from 5.8.8.x and run 5.8.7.11. Whenever I saw 5.8.9.x popup I waited and updated to 5.8.9.2 and within 10-12 hours I had errors - out of memory specifically - and had to shut down. I rolled back to...

SSD HD Failure 2nd time :(

Just FYI - TBW means "terabytes written" which means if the drive is rated for 300 TBW then it can only be expected to work that long. It can have a 5 year warranty but the gotcha is that it still can't exceed the TBW rating. As other people have said that's a low-end drive. The other thing...

    Hikvision Colorvue 4mp NEW

Well do share what other HikVision cameras you have for sale :) Might need a new thread but looking forward to it.

Blue Iris Version 5 is right around the corner!

Actually this is good news - this is actually being proactive because you don't want something that requires features of a dead or dying OS. If you or any new BI customers go out and buy a retail PC today what does it come with? Do you want to say "by the way, go in and install dot net 3.5 and...

    Update and Memory

Will test next time I check and have an update pending. I manually fire off updates.

    Update and Memory

Thank you. So it isn't just me :). I will check it out. Did you just script killing it the process? I made a quick and dirty script but didn't automate anything. Just one line. You did it right. Thanks a lot.

    Update and Memory

I did go in and update the video and so far that seems to have done the trick. Here's the deal - I manually had installed the Creators Update for 10 and that contained a newer driver than Intel themselves is publishing for the 580 (I think) video. So getting to a Intel-released driver vs one...

    Update and Memory

Thank you sir - you know you have mentioned it before and unrelated but I had an issue last week where I couldn't get two built-in DP ports to work at the same time and the answer was updated video driver - will try that now and we'll see how it goes.

    Update and Memory

I just fired off a couple of separate emails to support and I'll drop them here to see if anyone has any ideas - I've gone through everything and tried to tweak and now I'm on fresh hardware - plenty of CPU, memory, disk, and disk throughput - no extras. No auto updates, no file history, no...

Check this POE+ gizmo out - I've died and gone to heaven

I just emailed the manufacturer to clarify and see if they do indeed have a product that I can plug into a POE+ port on my switch and power both the light and camera or does it require a propietary injector. We'll see what they say.

Check this POE+ gizmo out - I've died and gone to heaven

OK - I thought they had a POE+ powered version - maybe I am wrong. Let me look at the manufacturers site because using an injector (passive) is a croc. Maybe I jumped the gun. I might read some more and if they do have one that I can just plug into a POE+ port on my switch and run with it...

Blue Iris Hardware ~ 35 Cameras

I'd bump up the RAM too - you can never have too much RAM, NVMe, or money - that's the rule :) I know they say you don't need it but RAM is cheap - especially DDR4 - if you use a 6th gen i7 then you will probably need DDR4. I just got two sticks of Crucial 16GB (32GB total) for 71.00 each on a...

Check this POE+ gizmo out - I've died and gone to heaven

I've recently upgraded everything to PoE+ (aka 802.3at) vs regular PoE (aka 802.af) and then this came along. The only thing I'll wait for is a 2700k version but this is great for your cameras. I don't do wifi because if you're going to run a power cable you might as well run PoE - if you...

    hikvision DS-2DE2202-DE3

Make sure that you have no ipV6 on the subnet. I had that happen once a long time ago with my first hacked cameras. Turn off any ipV6 and see what happens. Just having ipV6 RA and DHCP would cause issues. This may or may not apply in this case.
