Aha. But from what you are saying and I understand, do I still have to connect the PoE ports (as normal ports) to the simple switch? Cant I just use the single network port of the NVR?

Well, it looks like, the cameras cannot access the network. Only the network can access the cameras. Do I have to use the PoE ports even when I connect the cameras to a PoE switch? Here is a schematic of what I was thinking of doing.
