Let me know if you still need help. Biggest thing is make sure VCA is enabled on NVR...there should be a check box and that your NVR is set to VCA record schedule. Then make sure your cameras are set up for intrusion detection or line crossing or both, whatever your preference is.

Bill, You have to set the NVR to record VCA (not motion|alarm) and ensure VCA is enabled on your NVR settings. The guide I posted above should help you out.
