Will this camera work well enough as a manual LPR?

The camera is going to be in a bird house mounted low on a tree near a curve in the driveway. That's how I'm able to get almost zero degrees axis. With the vehicle coming at the camera at night, will headlights cause a problem getting a decent image at that distance (~60 feet)?

Will this camera work well enough as a manual LPR?

I want to use an IPC T3241T-ZAS (2MP varifocal, 1/2.8", 2.7-13.5mm lens) to capture license plate images day and night on my driveway. I'm not looking to collect plates programmatically and I know the nighttime images will be the plate only. I've been through quite a few relevant threads here...

Cannot connect to camera through PoE switch...

No apology necessary - I greatly appreciate your help. I wasn't sure which NIC to do that with so I did it both ways. With the 2nd NIC there was no change from the 169*. With the native NIC the result was 192.168.1.95

Cannot connect to camera through PoE switch...

I may be confused by that question - here's what I did: I plugged the Ethernet cable from the PC's 2nd NIC into the OOB port, rebooted the PC and the IP address on the 2nd NIC is still 169.254.149.226. Is that the way you meant?

Cannot connect to camera through PoE switch...

I pressed the reset button after I found I could not connect to the camera and had tried a lot of other things in an attempt to get the camera back - IOW, a last-ditch effort. I replaced the factory fans with new ones which are MUCH quieter (and move a lot less air). They respond just as the...

Cannot connect to camera through PoE switch...

I changed the network card, right-clicked on that card in Network Connections, chose Status > Details and I see 169.254.149.226, mask 255.255.0.0. Now what?

Cannot connect to camera through PoE switch...

I have four questions regarding accessing the console management interface: 1. It appears I need to buy a console cable - is that correct? 2. How will I know if the switch needs to be configured? I had pressed the RESET button, so does that mean it will need to be configured regardless? 3...

    No, nothing else.

Cannot connect to camera through PoE switch...

I want to make sure that getting into CLI stuff is necessary because the switch did work for me at first. Is there anything else to try before I brace myself for CLI work? And thanks for the YT link - that short video appears to be more useful to me than the others I had already found.

Cannot connect to camera through PoE switch...

I am unable to find the IP address of the switch. I tried to figure that out before I opened this thread but got nowhere.

DHCP is disabled - does this screenshot tell you what else you need to know? I'm already trying with only one camera.

Cannot connect to camera through PoE switch...

I'm in the process of setting up the BI PC, the PoE switch, and the Dahua cameras. The switch is a Brocade ICX 6430-24P. If I connect the camera directly to the PC I can open a browser and access it at 192.168.1.108. If I connect the camera to the PoE switch it cannot be found using a browser...

TOP-201 mini camera: unable to change IP address...

[Please pardon the bump but I think one of my questions got lost among all the replies] Does having the cameras on a 2nd NIC mean there is little or no benefit to changing the TOP-201 address for security reasons? I ask this because in this article on IP addresses, it is suggested to use a...

TOP-201 mini camera: unable to change IP address...

That's why I wanted to use 172.x.x.x but if it doesn't make any difference since the cameras are on a 2nd NIC then I won't bother with trying to change the IP address of the TOP-201 camera.

TOP-201 mini camera: unable to change IP address...

In this article on IP addresses, it is suggested to use a subnet other than 192.168.x.x for better security. But since the cameras are on a 2nd NIC, is there no benefit (or little benefit) to using a subnet other than 192.168.x.x?
