Basically, switch sends question going "are you POE?". Simply having a splitter at the end will not let the switch know it is POE. Therefore it will not send power down the line.

I have just ordered the Dome version. Have also noticed that all cameras now only mention lens being 3.6mm, except the dome and one wall attach bullet are offering 3.6mm/5mm lens. I am sure when asked they will do the 5mm lens as @klasipca has mentioned before.
