    Thanks, Looney2ns. The NVR is completely dead and not even powering up. In that case, I have no other option than buying a similar NVR but looking for some better quality NVR that can work with my existing mounted cameras.

    $500-$600. I already have Cat5 cable installed on my property and have my own PC. So in a nut shell, I need to buy 1 x blue iris software + 8 port POE switch (or 16 port for future extension) and at least 7 decent cameras. Thanks for everyone's help so far. Really helpful.

    Hi there, my Lorex NVR (LNR4082C8B) died last week and since this model is discontinued, I don't know what else I can buy in replacement. Obviously, I don't want to unmount all those camera (LNE3142B) but thinking to buy some cheap NVR and install the hdd from existing broken NVR. Just not sure...
