I in the process of buying a new house and will be redoing my camera system and home network.
I have a LaView NVR that I used to view remotely via port forwarding. Obviously, this isn't a good solution. My question comes into how to set up the entire network.
I have a fairly new Linksys...
I'm attempting to get the Tinycam app to work with my IP cam setup. I attempted the scan feature and it didn't discover anything. (I'm assuming because they're behind the NVR on a different subnet).
I have a LV-N9808C8E NVR, which doesn't look like an option with the app. I tried to do a...
That's what I figured. I have cat6 run from the closet where the NVR and my media server are, to the basement where I'd like to place the monitor. It, however, dumps into a switch in the basement before being fed around the room. I'm assuming that'd kill any HDMI over Cat options, correct (I've...
I currently have several extra monitors in my home and I'd like to purpose them for showing the camera feeds. I currently have a laview (rebranded hikivison) and several hik cameras installed.
The NVR is in a closet away from the locations I'd be looking to place the monitors. Is there an easy...
My apologies, I thought you were asking for the virtual host assignment. Yes the cameras then begin after that IP. One second and I will ping the actual IPs. I am on my regular network though, won't a ping not work to those IPs as they're on a different subnet I believe it is? Isn't that the...
I'm not sure how to ping those addresses.
My NVR is 192.XXX.X.241 and the cameras are 192.XXX.X.241:65001-65003. I am able to ping the NVR when I try to ping the cameras I get - "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."
I have a Laview rebranded Hikvision NVR system. I have the virtual host enabled and was able to connect to the cameras. I installed a 3rd camera, and now the first two cameras do not connect via the NVR provided IP. What setting may have changed? I also enabled port forwarding and DDNS to remote...
I've been having issues wrapping my head around the best way to integrate my new system with my home automation. I am also trying to use TinyCam on a few tablets I have around the house and my cell phone. I've went through several tutorials but I'm missing something somewhere.
I have a LaView...
Reset my NVR to default and got everything working. Still need to read up on how to setup remote viewing. Anyone have any suggestions? I read that simply port forwarding is dangerous and not secure. Thoughts?
I was able to get one camera live, and working on my NVR last night. However when attempting to get the second working I lost both. I think I'm going to reset the NVR to default and start fresh as I'm sure I've got settings screwed up somewhere.
Thanks for the laptop information. I couldn't...
I plugged in a laptop into the NVR and was able to find the cameras. I changed my camera IPs to match the NVR successfully. When I attempt to load the camera via the IP however I am getting an unable to connect error. I have attempted to manually add the cameras to the NVR via its software...
So I purchased a NewEgg deal that they had on LaView camera/NVR. Unfortunatly at some point during the remodel the cameras walked, thus I'm left with a LaView NVR. From all my research they're just dumbed down Hikvision. My NVR is LV-N9808C8E.
With that I purchased a few Hikvision cameras...
