Dahua Relay Out - Wireless Door Sensor - Z-Wave Rule-Lights on!!!!

Thanks @Smilingreen. Much appreciated. I've got a few 12V relays about and will be pulling the cam down to validate. Like you, after some thought, I'm wondering if the output is only powered when the cam uses external power (i.e. not POE). Tinkering will tell. Space is limited to my camera...

Dahua Relay Out - Wireless Door Sensor - Z-Wave Rule-Lights on!!!!

My older Qolsys IQ2 panel took a dump after 6 years, so I updated to an IQ4 last week. I've purchased a few door/window sensors (wireless for those unaware) that have terminals for external contacts and I've setup a few around the house to be "monitor only" (i.e. side gate opens triggering...

    Axis vs. Dahua

I ran quite a few Axis IP PTZ cameras starting back in the beginning (around 2011). Now these were $3K-4K cameras at 720P resolution and simply amazing for the time. They were great in the day and accessible in the US. Now I know of Andy, I my entire flet is Dahua and I'll never go back.

Andy, I have request for the Dahua engineers, if it is possible to do

Just use your signature. It lists all your cameras.

    Best practise for time sync

I too use my BI Server and NetTime as the NTP time source for all my cams. Zero open ports in todays world.

    IPC-B5442E-ZE Login Issue After Firmware

Alright. No clue what happened. I powered off for 10+ minutes, pushed reset on the cam in that period (to drain capacitance if present), cleared my cache, and I got in. Straight up no clue what happened there.

    IPC-B5442E-ZE Login Issue After Firmware

So I flashed General_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_Eng_PN_Stream3_V2.800.0000000.1.R.190706 into my IPC-B5442E-ZE from Andy's link here , and now I can't log in? I can do a factory reset at the camera, go through the initialization, get the login screen, but once I add the new credentials, it hangs without...

Dahua day/night switch utility - DahuaSunriseSunset

Good golly mis Molly. Noticed the service wasn't working any more, and to my amazement, the error log was 54GB. Deleted without even looking. Oops. Jumped to V1.6.0.0 and I can't connect to any camera (HDW2231RP's, HDW5231R's, or SD1A203T-GN)? I'm consistantly getting "The remote server...

    More proof that Ring sucks.

I like the "I caught these guys last night" on Nextdoor with my respone of "you observed them, no one was caught and they won't be with grainy poor angle crappy night video" . And as you, share sone 2MP starlight samples. That always gets people worked up.

    Troubleshooting Help

Not new to Dahua IP cams and have read the wiki 100x. Just got an IPC-B5442E-ZE to augment my system from Andy's Amazon store. Powered her up via POE switch, and all was well. Changed the IP, grabbed the MAC, reset, and all was fine. Stepped away and powered her up again and can't get an...

How much P on a POE slitter?

I understand running two cables to each location, and have two CAT5 cables in this location. I wanted to save the extra as the intended backup. Apparently two cables are pointless if one were to exceet 802.3at which allows for 25.5W max over the cable and an illuminator exceeds that. But...

How much P on a POE slitter?

I want to throw an IR ulliminator next a camera. The cam gets power from my switch and I was thinking of using splitters and wall wart to power the illuminator. How many amps (or watts) can you run through CAT5? And, will this work? Are the "two" power feeds on separate pairs?

    Problems with 2 IPC-HDW5231R-ZE cameras

The way I read your post, you used an external power source to configure and set DHCP, then unplugged the external power source and the cameras stopped working. Without POE or the external power source, would you expect the cameras to work? Are you saying they don't work with the external power...
