I've seen mention of older android phones being used as ip network cameras. I've got an old iPhone 4S with a stuffed screen (usable, but barely) and found 1 piece of s/w for the iphone to use as an IP camera but the s/w was basic in the extreme. Anyone gone down this path and/or could...
Ok, interestingly enough I got the SP009 camera working by connecting to another network: not sure if it was a router compatibility issue or 10.1.1.* vs 192.168.1.* range issue. Next is to work out how to telnet in - any idea what port would be open for this? 22/23/554/5000 all no go.
Came across this site while searching for info on a recently-acquired POS (Sricam sp009) - wish I'd found the forum before getting the camera!
I've long been interested in online webcam feeds so started out with a Sony handycam --> Snappy parallel port screen grabber which is still going strong...
On the app I use the device number. I'd love to see the traffic that's going from the phone out to a Chinese server to get the mapping and back in - what port numbers etc. Also tried to telnet to the internal IP address but was refused on 22 (ssl) and 23 (telent), while 554 (from memory) just...
Oddly I've struck the reverse problem - the (iOS) app will happily connect to the SP009 camera from outside my home network, but not when connected to the local wifi inside my (10.1.1.*) network. Infuriating!
I think the physical package, hardware and lens are nice - we just need some better firmware to re-flash the unit with. I'm nervous that it also seems to be going back to a central server for connections - all my info stored on a Sino server somewhere?
Ouch, that's a harsh call on the camera.
Unfortunately I may have to just kiss goodbye to the $US29 shelled out to aliexpress_dot_com [shrugs]. That's my coffee rations cut for a week or two. :shame:
I try to do things on the cheap, so may try to continue to tinker. Any suggestions or...
I've just got a new Sricam as a replacement IP camera. iOS app (finally) connects, and I can see the rtsp stream in VLC.
What I want to do is somehow either a) display a current still image from the camera on a webpage; or b) create a regular snapshot to include on a webpage. I'm a complete...
I have just set up one of these cameras and there's a nasty little catch:
Steps I went through:
- installed iOS app on iPhone
- reset camera
- went through config on app, failed on wifi, used the 'QR Code' method to configure camera with wifi & password
- Camera appeared on router with a local...
