Camera is Dahua IPC-HDBW4421R-AS dome. It's great picture during the day and can generally ID anyone who comes down the path to the front door. Night is a different story and is a bit disappointing. If I was replacing this camera it would be with one of those nice Dahua varifocal 2mp starlights.

going off the local community Facebook page, this guy sleepwalked his way around a good number of properties and relieved a number of people of loose change in their cars. Hopefully he was able to afford some shoes with his ill gotten gains. Apparently he even stole some guys soap from his gym bag.

Yeah I wondered if it was for the stealth factor. I got a fair idea of where he entered the property so will leave a nice surprise for him if he decides to come barefoot again.

Caught this guy walking up the drive. Probably been checking for unlocked cars. Camera didn't catch him going down the drive, so thinking he went down the neighbors drive and then climbed up a 1.8m retaining wall to my driveway.

Playing around with the settings and I notice you can adjust the IR light on this camera. Options are SmartIR, Custom and OFF. Not sure if this feature is specific to this model camera or a feature on the newer firmware.

I assume it will keep working, just untick the option for local recording and choose FTP or NVR etc. I purchased "Samsung 64GB EVO Class 10 Micro SDXC Card with Adapter up to 48/MB/s" from Amazon. So hopefully it should last a reasonable amount of time. I admit I am not looking forward to the...

@CaliCam There was no option except to purchase PAL, which suited me fine as I'm in New Zealand we use PAL here.

Wow the base looks completely different to mine. I notice yours has a button on the side of the base. I assume this is to make it easier to clip/un-clip the housing into the base. Mine doesn't have the button and isn't the easiest to to re-attach the housing to the base.

Once I tighten up the screw at the front, there ain't no moving it at all. Yes the base and housing is all metal. Feels really solid and secure, like to only way to move it would be with a hammer. Happy to take measurements but it's the weekend here and I left it at work! So will be 2 days away.

Yes has the Micro SD card slot. Compared to my other camera which is an IPC-HDBW4421R-AS it was much harder. I had to unscrew the board which had the camera lens attached. It was quite fiddly holding all the bits while I put it in. Saying that it still probably only took me 5-10mins to install...
