Having done more research into this and having posted my question on a few other forums it appears the latest Hikvision NVR firmware has simply done away with these features.
My previous NVR Firmware was V3.4.105 (old style interface). I'm thinking about finding the latest V3.x.x Firmware (so...
Another thread on this site that refers to missing features after a Firmware Update says:
"There are no visible Event makers on the timeline when in "Normal" mode".
This is exactly what happened to me.

Thank you for the reply.
I have a screen right beside my NVR and do not want to have to start configuring a laptop or PC to do something the NVR used to do for me.
The new user interface does list motion events, but visually this is just not as easy to see / comprehend what has been happening...
I have provided two photos that show the features I am missing after upgrading my Firmware.
I have a second NVR which I have not upgraded (exactly the same model).
You can see the timeline is blue for continuous recording, but the Hikvision cameras are putting the little green motion detection...
Hi.
I really would appreciate any help with the following problem.
My equipment is genuine Hikvision:
DS-7608NI-K2/8P NVR
DS-2CD2142FWD-I Dome Cameras
This time yesterday, when playing back footage on the NVR I could see the green motion markers on the playback bar to show where motion was...
Hi. Thanks for reading this post.
Anyone who uses a Hikvision NVR and genuine Hikvision cameras will understand how important and useful the green smart event motion detection markers are that appear along the timeline. These motion indicators allow you to review an hours worth of video in just...
Hoping to get a few more comments about the green (or red?) motion detection bars that appear when you are playing back footage on the Hikvision NVR.
Does anyone know a workaround or nice hack that means you can use a non-Hikvision camera and still get the motion indicators on the playback...
Thank you Alastair. I thought that might be the case.
It is such a shame because using the Web interface direct to the H.View camera I can see all of the motion detection and the events being generated. It's a shame this information is not being overlaid onto the blue timeline. Obviously...
Thanks for reading this post.
NVR Model: DS-7608NI-E2 / 8P /A
Firmware: 3.4.101 Build 181024
I have two Hikvision cams. Green event markers are being shown on the blue bar during playback for these so I can quickly review events. Anyone with a Hikvision NVR knows how useful the green event...
Hi, thanks for reading this.
I have a Hikvision NVR Model DS-7608NI-E2 / 8P/A. 4 cams (2 x Hikvision, 2 x China pin hole).
Everything works fine. I have configured channel zero encoding. I can see the channel zero using the iVMS4500 app on my android phone.
I've found a great way to view the...
Hi,
I've looked at my cameras with the ONVIF Device Manager. My Hikvision cams are using ONVIF v2.4. My spy cam uses ONVIF v2.04. Don't think that's the problem though.
The ONVIF Device Manager showed the spy-cam Event log was being updated every 2 seconds so I went into the web interface and...
-----------------------------------
First of all Thanks for recommending the 'ONVIF Device Manager' software. I've just installed it and have entered the login details for my 3 cams. The software instantly found all three cams and is showing loads of info. I'm about to start investigating the...
Hi there,

Thanks for reading this post. I have a question about Dynamic Analysis for Motion on Hikvision NVR's. I originally thought that Dynamic analysis for...
