    Questions on Blue Iris

I just bought it an hour ago. I think it will work well and if not, it's not like I have spent more money on other things that didn't work. Thanks again for the recommendation.

    Questions on Blue Iris

Thanks for your input. Yes the NVR is a watered-down PC that for me is to restrictive. At least with a Windows system, I had an idea of how to get something done. The only thing that is going to be a problem is the Cisco W3750X 48 port POE switch, it puts out some heat. I'll more than likely...

    Questions on Blue Iris

Your input helped. The Amcrest config tool put me on the right track for recovering and resetting the camera passwords. Oh, and it found all the cameras on the 10.1.1.x network. The NVR provided the 10 network when I installed it 6 years ago. I have gotten one camera visible in BI. I agree with...

    Questions on Blue Iris

Thank you for your input. Before I retired, I was in the computer network field, but that was 6 years ago, and I find I still have some knowledge of the systems, just not current. I'm curious as to why and how you are running both devices. I agree that when I set the NVR up, I didn't have any...

    Questions on Blue Iris

I have been running a Dahua NVR for the last 6 years and believe it may have taken a electrical hit. Last week it lost the ability to send email, says it can't find the network and the mouse I had connected wired and wireless would freeze up. Several times the whole NVR just rebooted. So I...

IMOU was working now shows all cameras offline.

No I never found a solution, so I reset the cameras to factory and everything worked fine until the IMOU software on my Android updated. Now everything shows online enter password to unlock. I enter the password and the response is This function is temporarily unavailable. Wish there was...

IMOU was working now shows all cameras offline.

I am using a 8 port Dahua NVR. I can see the cameras when using the NVR console. I have been able to access the cameras from IMOU while I am in the house, but when trying to connect from anywhere else the cameras show offline. So my guess is something happened to the outside network security.

IMOU was working now shows all cameras offline.

I have 8 Dahua cameras that have been working fine with IMOU app and now the app shows all cameras offline. I'm pretty sure it is password related, but short of resetting all the cameras to factory settings, I was wondering if anyone might have an idea for getting the cameras back online without...

Setup 2 way audio for DH-SD29204T-GN(-W) and DH-SD29204T-GN

I would like to get the 2 way audio functioning but not sure how to do this. They both have the mic and speaker built-in and the Dahua NVR has a RCA jack for a mic and speaker. I looked at the cliff notes but didn't see anything that talked about wiring needed for audio or how to configure it...

    Cameras for a vacant school

The only additional cost on running the Cat6 would be the 2 POE switches, which does not add that much considering what you are getting. Thanks

    Cameras for a vacant school

Thanks Fenderman, I installed the dahua starlight turret at my home and like them. Not sure how much he wants to spend as he is looking to flip this either as is or maybe creating apartments and leasing it back to the local college. When you say a recorder per camera are you talking about an SD...

    Cameras for a vacant school

A friend has asked to look at installing cameras in a vacant elementary school. It was vandalized recently so he is looking for something that would capture the vandals. The building has power but no internet or internal network. My initial thought was something like the Ring motion light with...

    Camera placements

That is true from what I've read, but this is my first experience with security cameras.

    Camera placements

I thought that might be an issue based on some of the photos that I have seen on the web and would think that the further back the more impact of the IR reflection. I will have to find a way to test them to find the best mount point. Thanks. Thanks for the reply. My soffit is just over 7' and...
