    Hikvision Firmware issues

Ok, made the change as above, remoted to her computer and saved all email settings to the cameras, tested the settings, verified attach picture was enabled on all cameras and the nvr, verified alarm settings were working and emails were sent. Still no pictures attached to the emails. I'm stumped.

    Hikvision Firmware issues

Might be long winded, will try to stay on the facts, appreciate your input. Bought a system for my sister as follows: DS-7604NI-E1-4P V3.4.96 build 171128 Had issues with remoting into it, any changes I made it dumped me back to logon and sometimes went into abnormal shutdown/reboot. Also...

    external IP changes

I respect your input, I really do. You say the risk is the same whether I run through their server or use my own static ip. I see their server as the hole in the security, not as an equal to my own. I'll grant you that any traffic on the net can be broached, Pretty much why I have a job...

    external IP changes

Here's how I look at it, I paid good money for the cameras and ancillary hardware. I paid for BI and myself a dedicated laptop for the task of running it. My labor to install and set everything up and document all settings for reference. The extra $$ for a static ip so I don't have to risk yet...

What would make a good spider-web removal tool?

Paint brush on a pole. Try spraying some wasp spray around the cam, careful not to get any on it, it can damage the lens cover. Doesn't take much, just a quick splat behind mine when I see them trying to move back in or after a heavy rain.

    Overzealous hoa neighbors

Moved to the sticks moons ago, closest neighbor is ~1 mile down. Comes with other issues for sure but I ain't never had a dispute with a human whilst living here and I tend to win the ones with the occasional varmit.

    Recommendation for camera pole

I'd recommend either a telescoping pole or a hinged at the bottom pole for ease of installation/maintenance. Do a search for Birdhouse poles or Purple Martin poles or something along that line. Hinged at the bottom type has less issues going forward due to deterioration from the elements. ( I...

    New install advice needed

If you can find the mac address on the cam use the "arp -a" command to list all devices on your network by mac and ip. one little trick I've learned is to ping ...255 first then do the arp command, it then lists everything active on the lan, a little copy/paste into a spreadsheet and a little...

The police want a copy of Dahua hard drive to investigate B&E

Followed this thread since started. Couple of thoughts have run through my small bean and thought I'd throw them out there. Firstly the recording in question is outside the home, different municipalities have different ordinances regarding this, step one for me would be a clarification on what...
