    Ah yes I only run IVS but usually have SMD enabled along side it so I can go back and search things outside of the IVS zones. E.g. something happenes on the street I can use SMD to search for a human or vehicle outside of the IVS intrusion zone. But no I'm not expecting SMD to be more reliable...

    I thought sensitivity 10 was the highest and would give more false alerts? I was also under the impression that SMD has no bearing on what IVS does so didn't like disabling it would matter. My issue is more with larger dogs or cats not so much smaller animals like birds etc. Cheers.

    Has anyone managed to figure out how to get these Dahua SMD/TiOC cameras to not detect animals? especially larger dogs? Min size is an issue for larger animals and detection at a distance. The most reliable settings I have found is IVS rules using Inside, Sensitivity 3, min duration 2 seconds...

    Yes but once the NVR is "hacked" then they need to run neferious code on the NVR to scrape for bank details, which again is harder than using a phone or PC to run code.

    Yeah wasn't LG stealing information and listening in on conversations? Eufy was posting snapshots on their servers accessible to anyone who went looking after lying that they don't host anything. I dunno why people are so concerned about the Chinese but if the Americans do it all good.

    I think zero tier uses no open ports or something. I personally don't care if Xi Jinping is looking at my grass growing, I just use P2P.

    BI guys use VPN. But email and notifications would have to go out to the internet through third party servers. Email you could host yourself I guess but notifications would go through apple and google notification servers.

    DMSS V1.99.811 no option to disable noise reduction anymore

    I was sure it was for DNR! Disabling noise filtering is done in the web interface of the camera, I have explained this previously but jigg insists it's an app issue.

    NVR setting "Sync Remote Device"

    I would say it syncs from the NVR to the devices. I would also assume it means time, date and PAL or NTSC (old school I know) I don't think it would upload encoding settings as when you add cameras the NVR seems to download the settings from the cameras. That's my 2 cents anyway.
