Not sure what my model number is. However, I can confirm upgrading the transformer did the trick.
I'm using a 24V 20A transformer I found on Amazon. Since then the doorbell has be stable.
So I was being bone headed, and was measuring the voltage at the transformer. I measured at the doorbell, and low and behold right before it dings voltage drops way under 16V; to around 12V. So apparently this 16-24V spec is total BS. It needs at least a 20V transformer. I ran out to home depot...
Ok confirmed I got the right transformer.
Hooked up a multimeter, and turned closed the breaker for the circuit. Multimeter was reading 19.5V, and when the doorbell rings (which I think indicates a reboot) the voltage did not drop and held steady at 19.5V.
This is the second doorbell cam...
I'll give it a shot here after dinner. Gotta do all the troubleshooting at night because IR. >.<
Unless there is a transformer somewhere else, and I'm changing the wrong one.... Hmmmm...
Hi Everyone,
I recently purchased a Laview Doorbell cam. It is a finicky POS.
During the day it seems to work pretty well, however when night comes around all hell breaks loose. It seems to happen when the IR on the camera activates, it promptly causes the doorbell to reboot. Being that its...
Hi everyone,
I just got a Hikvision doorbell camera. Model DS-KB6003-WIP. And... I forgot the password or made a mistake typing it in via the app.
I download their software and exported the xml file. After sending the file to Hikvision USA I was told that it is not a US camera and they would...
I see they have a wifi module, which I assume let's me serve up the same functionality of the Lyric system. Is it safe to say that the difference is the expandability aspect? Keypad aside.
Yay another rabbit hole. Immediately the Vista is out of the question. While I like the expandability, I'm not inclined to hardwire everything.
Time to dig into the Lyric vs L7000... Seems like the Lyric is newer.
Oh interesting...
I looked at simply safe and I heard they can be jammed. Not sure about ring. Do you happen to have a model number for the Honeywell unit? Who provides the monitoring?
The response time for my call to the police about the BnE was 2 hours..... I hope if an alarm company calls...
Sigh I wish I could run Ethernet. It's a home so I don't have a nice recesses ceiling to work with. But every room was prewired with two Ethernet ports so if I am inclined to drill though exterior walls I do have options.
In any case, the recent b and e has me worried. We are going to call an...
Ohhh interesting. Since posting this I went down a massive rabbit hole.
Using that would require I cut the coaxial female connector off the camera. I was thinking of using a waterproof junction box behind the the camera and the a second junction box near my outdoor outlet with a 12vdc 2amp...
Hi!
I'm very new to CCTV but after a recent BnE in the neighborhood I decided to take the dive.
After some research I decided to take the diy approach. I wanted a high res outdoor camera that was wifi enabled. I selected this : DS-2CD2041G1-IDW
I have a local frenas server whichbhas 16TB of...
