What model NVR do you have? After research, was told max 3TB internal and 3TB external.

Since no replies yet... I have found I can upgrade the unit to 6TB. A 3TB internal and a 3TB external. A 3TB SATA drive can be put in a Esata case and used externally. Should get me by for now. BTW need to format the drive after hooking it up for the unit to use it.

Hmm, Back of box uses an ESATA connector. WD Purple ESATA drives max at 4tb from what I found. And they sure are expensive.

With traffic around here, I am burning up a lot of hard rive space. The NVR is a nvr8-7400. It has a 2 TB drive in it now. In the literature it shows upgradeable to 6tb. Is that a software max or drive size at the time of production? No way to go larger? What would be best, replace the 2TB...

I finally sat down and figured it out. Whoever set up the cameras turned the sensitivity all the way down on the outdoor cameras. Then they masked off the whole area so they would not record at all. I have it figured out now. A learning experience.
