I noticed in the recommended requirements for SmartPSS Lite, it lists i5 6000 series @ 3.2 Ghz, my laptop has an i5 8000 series processor running at 1.6 Ghz, any issues using my laptop?

I don’t keep up with computer specs.
Try it and see. It won’t break anything

It’s mostly a matter of how well your computer can handle streaming video and how much. My laptop can handle 25-30 substreams running 1024 pretty well. Maybe 2-4 main streams before stuttering

SmartPSS will/should out if the box display your camera grid in low res substreams. When you double click a stream it should go to full screen using the main stream

I only ask because of the specs listed by Dahua. I had no issues with the Lorex Cloud app other than some stuttering every now and then viewing the mainstream, but it's not too common. I imagine it can't be too much different

You want Lite and if the newer version gives you problem downloading clips from the timeline let me know.
I reverted back to 2023-3-30 version and can send you

There was a significant performance increase with the 8th generation Intel processors. One approximate way to look it it is that a 8th gen i5 has roughly the performance of an earlier i7. I'd be surprised if SmartPSS Lite didn't work well on your laptop, but of course the only way to know for sure is to try it. The problem I have with SmartPSS lite on the laptop is the with the screen resolution. The laptop is native 1920x1080, but I run it at a lower res because everything is so darn tiny at 1920x1080. SmartPSS wants minium 1920x1080, and its screen image gets cropped some. It's just an annoyance, and I successfully use it anyway at the lower res. I can always bump up the res but haven't needed to yet.

I downloaded SmartPSSLite_V1.003.0000006.0.R.240517 as that is what I can find on the Dahua Wiki site

I presume to revert back, one would have to deinstall the 2024 version I downloaded, restart and then install 2023 version?

Ive installed over newer and older installs but yes that would be safer
