Was browsing the Empiretech site to get an idea of sale prices, and I'm impressed with the specs on this NVR - Max 512mBPS bandwidth! I don't think I've seen a normal NVR with that high of bandwidth

Really, cause I haven't even seen any literature on 32MP, let alone an actual unit for sale

I am sure there was some sarcasm in that post LOL.

We haven't seen above 8MP on an ideal sensor, so 32MP on a 1/2.8" sensor would be a joke LOL.

Or the cost would be prohibitive for the average homeowner.

here you have on ideal sensor...

Yeah, I think I'll stick to 4MP cameras for majority of cameras. I think the 4MP on the 1/1.8" sensor provides the best bang for the buck. I'm slowly yanking all of my crappy 8MP cameras, they're crap anyway

those 16/32MPX are very good.. they use 4 (not 2) lenses / sensors rotated vertically - they do full 180 degree horizontal x full 90 degree vertical (not 40-50 like normal cams)..
very good for high resolution overview on front of company buildings..
I just have an issue with image stitching and the image being made up from 4 different sensors. There will invariably be differences in image temperature, exposure and color between the sensors, even if slight. And if one sensor decides to leave the party, you end up with a black hole where it went missing. From what I've seen from the 4KT-180, this one should be a nice mess of combined images. No thanks. One sensor, one mess. 4 sensors, one big cluster FK

On another note, I have used the V5 NVR interface briefly, and it doesnt seem to bad.
Just learning where they hid stuff.

Haven't had time to give it much of a test drive, just initial impression getting it up and running and his cameras connected

because it isn't bad..
simply it changes too many things - how / where to do for almost nothing (camera groupings)..

Also Dahua NVR 4.0 had always very distinctive, logical and easy to use UI in comparison to HIK ones (which in many generations were awful)...

Now they are almost identical - Dahua copied (for what??) UI from HIK..

it's another time I have suspicions that both Dahua & HIK are using the same developers (external developer houses) for own products..

they are too similar on too many levels (camera features & UI, NVR features & UI, DMSS/Hik-Connect features & UI, SmartPSS/IVMS and even DSS Pro/HikConnect Pro)..

Yeah I didnt see any huge benefit over V4. I'm a "if it aint broke dont fix it" kinda guy also.

instead of copying each other (HIK & Dahua), they would gain much more if they took Unifi Protect as a model to follow..

HIK/Dahua hardware (especially from higher models) + software and UI / UX at the level of Unifi Protect - it would be a market hit worldwide..

Something like DJI done for drones (and DJI by offering superior products & support on all levels killed almost all western competition)..

But I'm sure it's out of the budget for most homes, and I don't recall seeing that NVR on the Empiretech website
I have the 608, great NVR. The problem with what you are showing on your first message, if you use any AI, it halves the Mbps. In this case it would go down to 200.
Still a good NVR, and could be fine for the majority of people here visiting this site.

The 608 is found here 608NVR .... It's also found on Amazon.
