I’ve got contacts that could get me a IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV-PRO for only £100, how big of a difference will this be (8MP 1/1.8) compared to my other 3849 (8MP 1/2.7)? Does anyone have both of these sensors and can provide a night time view? Thank you

There will be a big difference to your current camera. I can go from 25/70 1/2.8 Sensor to 4-5/50 at night with the 4mp version Tioc Pro. You could also just resell the cameras for the same or a little more.

I have ordered two of the cameras to test. I'll post a few sample photos as soon as they arrive. I also have the 4mp version

Also bought the 1.8 8MP to test against my 8MP 2.7, from comparisons online for similar sensors there seems to be a big difference.

The noise inherent in the 4MP version would lead me to believe it would be even worse in the 8MP model.

I’m betting it will act the same way as the 4MP version

Smart Illumination has its own triggers as I was able to get it to trigger without MD/SMD or IVS being enabled.

Would you also mind testing the SMART ILLUMINATOR and see if it will work with SMD and Video Detection Zones? Apparently dahua’s only webinar shows that it will work that way, which doesn’t seem to be happening currently…
So I have tested Smart Illumination. I found out that SMD+MD = Lights turn on, SMD+MD off = Stays in IR Mode, SMD+MD off + IVS = Lights turn on. New Firmware 10R

Using FW V3.140.0000000.7.R, Build Date: 2024-10-18 - Neither SMD OR IVS is required to activate the Smart Illumination white lights

Using this setting
