Does the DDNS service offered by IPCamtalk offer the ability to update the "DNS Console" configuration and allow BI to link to Proton email?

In the past (wayyyyy past), I set BI up to use Yahoo's SMTP servers. I haven't had a Yahoo account in years but am still using it for BI alerts.

One option is to configure my DynDNS host, or now use the IPCamtalk DDNS.

Any advice on properly configuring an email server?

Just in case anyone else is ever on this journey (getting BlueIris to use Proton as the Email Server in "Blue Iris Settings", I thought I'd share how far I have gotten but still not finalized.

I learned that my over priced DNS service used only for BlueIris access from my phone app, only offered Hosting. My email is with Proton, so I finally followed their recommendation of a new Provider, simply because the numerous configuration steps needed to be integrated with Proton anyway.

Landed on namecheap.com, created a new Host address and started the frustrating process of verifying the Host name with Proton, setting up the MX record (what a nightmare that was), and setting the anti-spoofing protections. Note: it turned out there were a couple of bugs within namecheap.com that kept the MX records from working properly. It took multiple attempts and communication to get namecheap support to believe it and then track it down to correct.

Now, I have an email address that routes through my DNS Host to Proton correctly.

Where I am left is getting the required BlueIris Email Server "Server address" for Proton. In the past I had used Yahoo (smtp.mail.yahoo.com) but cannot find the equivalent yet for Proton.

The journey continues....

Well, I've reached the end of this one. Turns out, to get BlueIris to be able to have Proton be my email server, you have to either purchase and additional license with namecheap.com (for SMTP) or download a Proton software package onto the BlueIris PC to act as an SMTP service.

Does someone know of an easier service to use? Again, I just want an alert to send an email to my Proton account with a picture..... It used to work fine in the old days when I had Yahoo...

Many use gmail just fine as the BI email. You just have to jumpt thru the hoops of an app password
