Hello I have an analog ptz speed dome model# G4-MZ23X-PTZ.
My issue is I have no documentation for the dipswitches or anything really!
I have an NVR and 2 ptz keyboards and cannot get anyone of them to control it. When it powers on and does the self check it prints some info on the screen like

Address 1-H
Baud Rate 9600
Parity none
Version 1.03.1.R

and that's it! No protocol, which I would assume pelco d/p and also I'm not sure what is neg or pos as the red and yellow communication wires are not marked or even if I should be using RS 485 or other to communicate with it. I'm attaching photos and hope someone can help please.

It has been a while since I have had a camera like this. Normally there is a Pelco-D or some other option. But 1-H is address 1 with Hard code.. There is also a 1-S that is for software.. So it might be if your DVR or Keyboard has Ezptz that might be the option to use.. But 1 is the address.. Also need to make sure that your system is setup for 9600. I set most of mine to 2400 for distance reasons.. But have one that is set to 9600 because it is only way I can run it lol..

About the direction of the colors? Without a manual or something that is on the wires or camera base it is hard to say. Set it in 1 direction and see if your can control it if you can't swap them.. It isn't like a Power supply and you need to make sure you connect only 1 way or might damage. In this case if you connect backwards it don't work.. Swap and as long as you have name right.. I mean I have gone through a whole list of Protocols before finding the right one 8 or 10 years ago..

Thank you for responding! Yea I have started going down the list trying them all as well unfortunately! I'm still hopeful someone will have some infoSo sometimes there are only certain baud rates that will work with these type cameras? Also what about data bits, stop bits and parity? Does it matter? I've been leaving it on 8 and 1.. Also I read ever once in awhile something about 120 ohm termination. I know this is a lot of questions but any help would be greatly appreciated

Also what is Ezptz?

Sorry been awhile, so ignore eptz lol, just found my ptz that has this option lol, I have to many ptz cameras, anyway the one that has this option comes up in my DVR, over UTC and ignoring the hard coded settings, mine is setup in DVR HDCVI using HDVCCTV2.0 address 1 even though the camera is using H5 my DVR is using address 1 9600 8 data bit and 1 stop bit.

Lot of my devices run and only look when needed, yet today was looking over an event on my DVR when I was still on the Ch for this ptz it did it's weekly reboot when it did the load I noticed this was the camera in question, so went to camera PTZ setup page to check status and is what is above. I checked my PTZ controller for this camera it is setup as Pelco D ch5 9600. This setting might not be correct but I am able to control it with my controller and DVR both but my controller is set to auto and might just be using the cameras hard 5 address 9600 and no protocol? Have static cameras setup to have DVR have my ptz cameras go to presets on events so after I setup don't pay much mind to them if not needed as use other ptzs on my NVR to monitor most of my property.

So on your DVR check if HDCvi is an option. If your working with TVI DVR I would need to swap my camera to one of my hikvision and see if it auto sets PTZ settings like my Amcrest DVRs do on UTC cameras.
