I presumed this would be easier to research than it actually is.

any help appreciated.

I have Hikvision system set up with a DVR7600.

I want to be able to bring up the camera on the Lounge TV

I cannot find any process of achieving this without calling an installation company.

Anybody managed this with relative ease??

  1. How far away is the NVR/DVR from the TV?
  2. What is the EXACT model number of the (Hikvision?) NVR/DVR?
  3. Does the TV have an unused HDMI port?

Could you run an HDMI cable from the NVR to the TV?
What is the estimated distance between the NVR and the TV, in feet?

I don't think the Samsung's browser will display that NVR's webGUI as you are doing now, but you can try...assuming the Samsung is on the same network as the NVR.

Otherwise, consider either IR remote over the HDMI cable (from TV to NVR) using the above link in post #6 using a Hikvision IR remote
OR
pull a CAT-5e or 6 Ethernet cable from the NVR to the TV, use a KVM (Keyboard-Video-Mouse) system over the CAT cable (transmitter at NVR, receiver at TV) and plug a mouse into the USB port into the receiver at the TV end to operate the NVR with a mouse while viewing over HDMI.
