I had a lawn crew, who was cleaning up the front and side yard flower beds and putting in a new bush. Right in the middle of the day, one of the workers walks over to my air conditioner and takes a leak.
I'm standing right there in the window, while also being a day where kids happened to be out of school.... so right in front of everyone does this.

I immediately called the owner of the company, I explained the situation and he stated, well they obviously needed to go the bathroom. He wasn't going to do a thing about it until I stated that I was going to file a complaint with law enforcement of indecent exposure and in front of minors, I would then give the paperwork to my attorney (I have one that is on retainer) and I will see you in court.

Guy changed his tune real quick, said he'd give me a xx% discount, etc.. I laughed and told him I'll take everything for free, at which point I won't hand the paperwork over to my attorney.
He reluctantly agreed to the terms. I still filed a complaint with law enforcement, guy was arrested for indecent exposure... the great part is, I didn't consult my attorney, but the neighbors who had kids outside and saw him wagging his tally wacker around did consult their attorneys...
Company didn't fare so well after that many lawsuits.

Yes, here is a picture of the cameras and the mount. Just so happens that there is an old vertical branch in the center of the tree about 2 " in diameter. The tubing in the picture slides right over the vertical branch. Previously I used wood screws to attach a 3/4" inch piece of wood to the tree that the cameras were mounted to in place of the tubing. I will take some pictures of the wire entrance and exit to the tree.

I noticed you mounted all the turret cams on mounting brackets any reason for that? My current install I mounted straight to my siding. About to replace them any benefits to using the brackets? Awesome install btw. Blows my mind people think it’s ok to use others yards as a bathroom.

You mean the bullet cameras? I sometimes mount them directly to the wood on the eaves of my house if that is the best solution. In my case I find that making my own brackets works best for me, most of the time.

A couple of reasons: (1) make it a little easier to protect the connector from water intrusion, (2) dress it up a little.

I don't use those mounting brackets at my personal home. That install was done for my parents.

WiFi router is Asus RT-AC86U upstairs (that lone wire goes to it). POE switches are 8-port unmanaged. I used two 8-port instead of one 16-port just in case a power supply or something else dies in one of them then you can still have the most important 8 cams still operational. Note I have the exterior wired (direct burial) cams on one switch. Equipment is in a room in the basement. Need to talk dad into getting a UPS battery backup.

I know it's a bit pricey, I have my NVR plugged into an UPS; the UPS in turn is plugged into an ECOFLOW Delta 2 Solar Generator. If the power goes out the Ecoflow trips in after about 2ms lag. During those 2 milliseconds the UPS is on and the NVR hasn't noticed the outage.

I cant believe people are taking a dump in the yard, its crazy..

I do have to ask, if the cam is mounted within easy reach, wouldnt it be easy to disable it for an intruder?
Ive only started looking into this stuff, but thats the first thing i think of.
Thanks for the great pics btw, im trying to educate myself on all this

The same remark was given on Shark Tank when DoorBot (now Ring) was pitched... Now everyone has them on their homes and they are hardly ever stolen or messed with.

If your camera system is set up properly you should have a capture of the person that disabled your camera. If not, then you have a hole to fill.

Wow this install looks well thought out and implemented. I like it!

On the subject of poop, I had my first experience with a young guy relieving himself at the end of my cul-de-sac. I live on a dead end road way up on a hill in the middle of no where. I see this guy at the end of the cul-de-sac and start asking him what he's up to. He seemed nice enough and I turned and walked away. Later I go back and he's gone but he took a dump and left the paper as well. Gross.

Well, you'd have pretty good footage of them screwing with your camera then. It's more important to have the camera positioned to capture their identity and mounting them too high generally defeats that. The key is to have multiple cams so they cannot avoid being captured.

As a former lawn Jockey out ridin mowers and blowers and weed whips,,,,I have never been caught peeing........in an indecent manner. I mean yes I did it, but I go over to the pick up and half close the door and start acting like i was looking for something....
Or wait until the next lawn if it had a wooded area.....Or we swing by a Convenience store.....One day I shit in the woods way up north on 51 out by spyder lake.....1/2 hour from any restroom or Chicagoan's on vacation. Do I need an attorney?
