I have a HDW5231R-ZE that has been working fine for several years now, recently i get a constant hissing from the audio. Question is this a hardware failure and i should just disable the audio? Any other possible troubleshooting steps?

yes. It had always been enabled so tried to disable. No change also reduced the mic gain down with no change. you can still hear normal sounds faintly thru the hiss.
Someone in another thread suggested using air spray to clear the mic a little in case there are some dirt/dust
accumulated outside and blocking the mic from picking up sound. Maybe it will help if you have easy access to
the camera.
