yeah, only 1% out of the millions of cases of you science deniers will die. lets see, 1% of 1 million is 10,000. 1% of 10 million is 100,000.

actually, new data is showing very high numbers of 30-40 somethings in the low vaccination states are getting very sick, requiring serious hospitalizations from Delta. Vaccinated infection rates in states like California where we have 50% fully vaccinated are like a tiny fraction of non-vaccinated infection rates, AND the symptoms are far less serious.

just keep on denying, y'all be you! cuz, FREEDUMB!

some data, from Post-Vaccine COVID-19 Cases ...

first, California has about 40 million total population. about 50% of that has been fully vaccinated although the rate of vaccination has definitely slowed down, we have our fair share of deniers and wobblers too.

out of the 20.7 million fully vaccinated, only 14365 total post-vaccination cases have been identified, thats 0.069%. of those, 843 needed hospitalization, but A) possibly 30% cases are missing hospitalization data, and B) the hospitalization may have been for something other than Covid19 but it was tested for upon admission and discovered.

Of those, 88 people are known to have died. its not clear if they died from Covid or from something else. regardless, thats 88 out of 14000 out of 20 million.

meanwhile, they are running an average of around 950 new cases/DAY state-wide this past few weeks, the vast majority are from the unvaccinated 50%.

statewide, as of a few days ago, California has had a total of 3.8 million COVID cases, and 63276 deaths, which is a mortality rate of 1.67%. Nationally, the mortality rate of those who catch it is 1.8%. 3.8 million cases is nearly 10% of the TOTAL POPULATION.... this thing is contagious as all getout, and the Delta variant thats now erupting is even more so.

some more numbers here on a general news site, admittedly without hard references,

and I know, 'The Atlantic' is probably the EPITOME of left-slanted liberal news/opinion in all you all's eyes, but this article summarizes a bunch of recent data better than any I've found.

oh, and some more hard science on the variants, there's more than just Delta... Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

so come on, lets see some more right wing snark posts from The Gateway Pundit and other such...

The thing that's being ignored about the death rate of the "Delta" variant is that it has the same death rate as the flu. Do we all stay home, wear useless masks and uselessly social distance for the flu next? Face it, we have to live with the CCP Virus, it will never be "eliminated" or "conquered" just like "climate change", yet another bullshit pile of manipulated data used to achieve a political purpose.

I dunno why there's all this hubbub about the so-called 'Delta Variant'.
Don't y'all know there's already a 'Lambda Variant'?!?
And it's 100 times worse, don'tchya know?
OMG, we're all gonna DIE.
We're doomed.

[/sarcasm]

VF knows 'viral pneumonia' has been a thing his entire life (and I'm old, by the way). He also knows cold viruses mutate rapidly and frequently. It's their only survival option. It's why he's heard his entire life 'there will never be a cure for the common cold'. If you want to be a lot more resistant to cold viruses (and that includes rhino and corona viruses) take Vitamin C 1000mg and Zinc 50mg daily. It helps ward off influenza viruses, too.

Finally, anybody who wants to live their life in fear of something with >99% survival rate, go right ahead. It's your life.
But don't try to force your fear onto me, or anyone else. That's where I draw the line.

Saying we are science deniers is pretty ignorant given all the mistakes science has done along the way....

There is enough data to show this isn't any deadlier than other flu we have had. We can go tit for tat but the truth is I can give you all kinds of science article or videos with scientist talking and you wouldn't believe any of it.

Vaccinated people now make up almost 47% of all new Covid cases

Vaccinated Britons now make up almost half of Covid cases in the country, a symptom-tracking study suggested today — but there are signs the third wave may have already peaked.
King's College London scientists estimated 33,118 people were catching the virus daily in the week ending July 10, compared to 33,723 in the previous seven-day spell.

But 47 per cent of cases are among those who have received at least one dose of the Covid vaccine, surging upwards from around a quarter at the start of June.

That article states that 90% of adults in the UK have at least one dose, but that means they are only partially protected. so that means that the 10% with NO dose are still getting over half the cases. It also notes that youth, who are less likely to be vaccinated (and while it doesn't say it explicitly, in my experience a whole lot less concerned, we're all immortal when we're kids) are counting for a much higher percentage than before.

so whats your point with those claims ? more useful would be per-capita numbers, which the rather sensationalist Daily Mail can't be bothered with.

Texas Democrat demands national face mask mandate from Biden after three of his colleagues test positive for COVID

These people have no grasp of logic or common sense. They CHOSE to to go maskless knowing full well that masks are required on commercial flights. Do they think there's no reason for that requirement? They CHOSE to believe the stated protection rate of the shot. They made 2 wrong decisions and now want rules placed on everybody because THEY were arrogant and stupid.

I'm not completely dismissing the alternative theory that this is part of an overall plan to delay a quorum in the Texas house. Either way, they're a bunch of dumb asses.
