Or if you have a tree lined lot can also run to there too. Pole mount as well if you can make that work. Certainly options if you can entertain them. Working on night footage now for you guys ;)

Can this ITC237-PW6M-IRLZF1050-B camera capture and store plates without an nvr? Are there other cameras that have built in ANPR that do not require the use of a nvr that also supports ANPR?

yes this can capture, store and even process blacklist/whitelist for alarm and barrier / access control on cam without NVR should you wish.

Do you know how the ITC237-PW6M-IRLZF1050-B compares with the IPC-HFW7442H-Z4? Also, you know if the HFW7442H-Z4 can process ANPR and store plates without a nvr?

Yes have used the 7x42 line as well.
  • The 7442 is a 4MP or 8MP Ultra line camera primarily focused on 'regular' duties (supports IVS, Video Metadata, Face Detection etc) + ANPR as opposed to the ITC being a 2MP specific Traffic / ANPR / Barrier / Access Control camera. ITC does NOT support regular IVS rules
  • 7442 can capture plates on cam BUT cannot process access control or white / black based lists on cam, needs the NVR to do that. So if you need white / black list alarming or to trigger events / access you need an NVR for 7x42 cams
  • With regards to the recognition accuracy of plates on the 7442, the answer is that it depends. Why ? Well the 7x42 cams do not have the embedded plate format algorithm that the ITC's do therefore they use strictly AI only to detect vehicle on scene then plate and read plates using AI by itself to determine if correct format. If all that = YES then you get a plate hit on cam. As there is no plate format algorithm on these 7x42 cams, ANPR can be extremely good (based on FOV, install location and country in which you run them) or bad as in you may see a number of plate unknowns.
As I continue the review, I'll throw a 7442-Z4 into the mix in same location to show a few comparisons. However, long story short, if you want true ANPR on cam and / or need access control / barrier & entry control etc + you like having standalone (no need for NVR to process) then an ITC cam is the way to go. The ITC cams as I mentioned in my first post, do what they do, extremely well.

@Arjun not sure on the PFA143 mount but as I said, I don't think you'll need this in most situations. My expectation on price (awaiting confirmation) for the ITC cam itself is probably around the $600 USD or slightly less mark. Also remember if you need a junction box, the J style mount fits easily on a PFA121 so you can save yourself a ton of money (around $18 to $24) and mount to that waterproof box if you like, as I show in the pics below:

All, I wanted to provide a quick update on this one. New name on this for units from @EMPIRETECANDY will be IPC-LPR237-IR and IPC-LPR237B-IR (makes for a nice shorter name) and price wise will be approximately $580-$600 USD shipped. So for those looking at one of these great ANPR units that is a HUGE saving over other outlets. For comparison, I checked in on a few in stock US dealers and those are between $100 to $500 (avg of $200) more expensive ! Therefore if you are looking for a very capable, ANPR focused unit this might be one for you to consider.

I plan to do a walk through of the menu, a comparison to the 7442-Z4 for ANPR (per the request above) and then my summary ASAP.

I think I should order from B&H first, get a feel of the size, then make a decision from there. I still feel like this thing is a behemoth, not kidding :(

I saw the pictures in the original post, but I still can't get a sense of size difference between that and the 5241 :(

Its not that bad :) and certainly not as big as the 8442 :)
