Hi guys, can anyone help me with adding DW security GW8555MIP camera to Blue Iris? I am missing probably something very simple.
I used to have these cameras working with BI some time ago and now I am having hard time adding them to BI again.

I am not really skilled with BI camera setup so I am not sure where to start troubleshooting. I know it was working for me before so it should work again I hope. The camera is working fine with GW plugin and setup software.

Please see attached screenshots with info. I have tried to used Inspection function with correct IP, username and password, it defaulted to Generic/ONVIF. No luck. I tried to change ONVIF port to 9988 (media port)
I tried to select GW security in Make section. No luck.

Eventually I got lost and a little bit frustrated. Hopefully you can give me some guidance.

Oh.. I am running latest BI5

Thank you for your help. Charles

I'd suggest you drop back to the last known "stable" version of BI as listed in the update manager. There seems to be a problem with some cameras in this latest update. That should be fixed in the next update or two, but dropping back to the latest stable version should get your cameras back. If you have "auto update" enabled it's probably a good idea to disable it.

I just inherited a GW8555MIP that I have no idea what the IP address is. I would like to reset it, and add to Blue Iris. I have searched google extensively, and cannot find anything but the quick start guide on the camera. Anyone have any ideas?

I just did a quick search and supposedly the default IP address 192.16. 8.0

Yeah, I found that pretty easily as well. The problem is since it's a previously used device, I think it has a different IP. So I'm looking for a way to reset the camera back to its defaults.

Most of their cameras have a factory reset on the back of the camera. It might be inside the "door" where the SD card is or have to take it partially apart.

If there is no hardware reset button, try downloading their IPCManager tool and the camera will be searched automatically, and select it, then right click to select “Find the password” function. That works on a lot of their models.

Thanks for the response. I checked behind the door, and no button. I will try downloading the IP manager tool to see if that gets me going. If not, I'll see if I can't get inside to find a reset button.

Man, nothing comes up when I search the model number on their website, nor when I search IPC manager. It's like this camera never existed!
