0.005 lux, how good is is without ir?

How good is the image of a cam with 0.005 lux without ir at night? I do have two driveway lights and a pole light across the street.

I find the problem with lux ratings is that you can't compare different brands.

So 0.01 lux Hikvision vs 0.07 lux Hikvision, the 0.01 will be considerably less noisy.

Same 0.01 lux Dahua vs 0.07 lux Dahua.

But 0.01 lux Dahua is not necessarily better than 0.07 Hikvision and vice-versa.

What camera do you have in mind?

Since they just moved, there is no sample footage yet. Worst case I would have to purchase a separate ir illuminator.

You can't compare brands! Well my personal experience says you can't. Plus 0.005 vs 0.001 is a lot worse.

This wasn't meant to give exact comparison! Just an idea that any camera with 0.001 with IR on is not that great, then 0.005 without IR isn't going to be any better.
