I don't know if Live View functions use specific APIs/Libraries that you don't have installed or updated. I'm thinking about Directx/OpenGL or those kind of things. It's weird. Should check the prerequirements of the batch config tool, I don't know if there is a manual because I never needed it. It has worked on 3 different systems for me: 2 notebooks and the MS Surface Pro.

I'm using motion detection on the camera because I don't want to put more load on the NAS. Check the help of Surveillance Station, there's a lot of info.

Yes, for the VMs you most likely won't be able to see Live View since you don't have a valid graphics card. you might need to check that the "Virtual" graphics card is setup as something meaningful and loaded the VM tools or drivers for the Virtual Card.

Do the onvif firmwares also have this option or is this exclusive to the Ezviz?
ONVIF is a functionality, not a version of the firmware. There are firmwares that provide also ONVIF functionality, and others that don't.

The Hikvision fw I'm using on my EZVIZ DB1 provides the ONVIF functionality and it also allows you to turn off the outdoor bell sound.

The problem is that not all the client apps (EZVIZ, Hikivision, Guarding Vision, etc.) have implemented the possibility to turn it off in their GUI, but the firmware supports it.

Here's the EZVIZ app, with my DB1 with Hikvision firmware, as you can see, I can turn off the outdoor bell sound:

I thought i saw that option in the Ezviz app whit the Hikvision firmware running. Well i never use the app for the intercom function. So after the installation of the doorbell i put a piece of tape on the speaker. So when somebody presses the button you hear a very soft sound.

So I've been to this exact page and would love to have the "by camera" option, but could not get it to show up in the drop down. Do I need a certain firmware/ONVIF to make this work?

I assume the option is not only displayed but also works in your setup.

Another question; if you're running the Hikvision firmware and using the Ezviz client app. what firmware gets offered when a new one comes out; the hikvison one or the Ezviz?

But if you do does it actually go off. some have reported flipping it off on a firmware other then the EZVIZ firmware does not in fact turn it off.

I don't like assumptions, so I just reinstalled the ezviz app to try, because I never needed to turn it off actually and unfortunately, while the option is present, it doesn't work when you turn it off: error "operation failed, server exception".

So the "Outdoor Bell Sound" option doesn't work with hikvision firmware. Must be a specific feature added by ezviz in their firmware, that explains why the other mobile apps (Hikvision, Guarding Vision) don't have the option. This could be added to 101 (@David L).

Regarding the firmware update: I don't recommend upgrading fw automatically if you use another vendor's firmware, better check manually here in the forum every once in a while. I bet EZVIZ app obviously downloads ezviz firmware, but it's an assumtpion, and I don't even know how I could try. Right now the EZVIZ app reports that I'm using v5.2.4 build 200321, which is hikvision's latest fw, and it tells me there are no updated. But I would never dare to upgrade it this way. I suggest to disable automatic upgrades, unless you stick to the same vendor's hw/fw combo.

Correct, I just posted about it. Option is there but it's not working with a firmware different from ezviz's. I wrongly assumed that since the option was there and enabled it worked, but that wasn't the case.

Problem is that when switching firmware, if you don't reset, you have a lot of issues. Check previous posts. The underlying data structure between two different firmwares is different, so you will encounter many issues if you don't reset.

It's a catch 22 situation.

yes, there is an option in the app to disable LED... meaning ALL lights.
I think that's an ezviz only function too. Are you sure the led option turns off also the ring leds? It looks too drastic, I wouldn't do that, because in case of issues, you wouldn't even know the status of the camera.

OOPS! my bad... that's the IR LEDs, so NO it doesn't turn off the lights! Sorry not home right not and didn't think about that.

Doesn't work because ezviz's fw doesn't offer ONVIF functionality. I recommend you switch to Hikvision firmware, check recent posts of some days ago when I switched to Hikvision fw from ezviz fw. You need to flash the fw and factory reset, then change the SSID via batch config. Then you can use ezviz app or hikvision app to configure the camera from scratch. After that, your synology will integrate way better with the camera built-in functionalities, including motion detection.

Read the latest posts, go 1 week behind. I wrote about my personal experience upgrading to hikvision firmware and how to solve the issue you will have after the factory reset.

Yes, Batch Config is THE tool for almost everything. :)
