I have a camera set to record 24/7. BI breaks recordings into 1 hr clips. I have a new 8TB hard drive, so it has plenty of space for several weeks...problem is when I went to review some of the clips from 2/12 I noticed it only went back to 2/13...Then I realized I had the stored Clips and Archiving set to 7 days and not set by the amount of HDD space to use. And the delete selection was chosen by default so they no longer appear in BI. I was hoping they would be in the recycle bin like any other file you delete in Windows but I do not see these files in the Windows deleted bin. Where did they go and is it possible to still retrieve them?

Unless there is something vital in the clips that you need to get back I personally wouldn’t bother, just setup the drive to fill up minus around 10% and move on.

No, unless you use drive recovery software and the files have not actually be overwritten. While, Clips and archiving does have a recycle bin option, it tells you not to use it because performance is affected.

Yeah, I was trying to see some contractor activity at a specific time that day. There is a lot of space on the drive but being a week later, odds of even partial overwrite are probably high I'd think as I believe it is a random thing what available drive space is used.
oh well, lesson learned.
