No filter on the camera. I had to look it up as I didn't know what it was. Camera is just forced into color mode 24/7.

I wonder if it's a smudge on the lens or lens cover along with an interesting shape to the camera's iris.

Could be from all the rain we had a few days ago. The camera is installed under an eave, but when it rains, drops cover the lens. I will clean the lens to see if that makes any difference.

Just a little while ago, a coyote walked on the deck in about the exact same spot as the deer the evening before. Here is a frame capture.

Between the humans and the wildlife there sure is a lot of action around your house.
