I'm Running the latest release - using two Amcrest camera's and a DLink. When I have task manager open it shows no signs of BI until after about 5 minutes then a burst of CPU utilization. If I try to open task manager after I start BI - it just won't load.

After it loads - I can shut it down and bring it back with normal speed.

Processor AMD FX(tm)-6100 Six-Core Processor, 3300 Mhz, 3 Core(s), 6 Logical Processor(s), 16 gig ram

Has it always started slow ever since it was installed ? Or is this a new problem ?
What else in running on the PC ?
Is this machine dedicated to just BI ?
is BI running as a service ?
As a service is it set to "delayed start" ?
What is in the windows event log ?
After starting up in the task manager what is the working set size of BI.
Is the windows OS and BI on an SSD ?
Are the BI data / video files on a separate drive from the OS ?

Post a screen shot of the process in the task manager, sorted by the CPU time.

The windows task manager will not load if the CPU or disk is at 100 %

What do you mean "After it loads - I can shut it down and bring it back with normal speed" ?
You stop BI then restart it with the OS up and running ?

I run 9 cameras, recording direct to disk on an AMD FX-6300 six-core 3.5GHz. When not running UI3 or the BI camera display, it is using less the 12% cpu. With a display up with all 9 cameras it is at about 45%

I know this is against normal forum thinking, but i like not having to deal with the Intel driver memory leak problems. :)

You don't have to deal with Intel memory leak issues with most Intel processors either.. if you enjoy paying your electric company for the privilege of running AMD that's your choice..

I helped someone deal with slow-starting BI once. I believe we never really figured out what was wrong, but once he changed BI to run in service mode, the app startup got a lot faster.

If you want help answer the question.

Set the system up to record the boot log. Use MSCONFIG
reboot the system
post the boot file.
