i had a Lorex IP cam system. the NVR died on me. so i got a LaView NVR model LV-N9808C8E.
i thought it would be a simple swap. nope. the NVR refuses to recognize the Lorex cams.

i can manual add in. but dont know the settings
protocol=onvif?
management port= 80?
channel port= 1?
tranfer protocol= auto?
user name=?
password=?

pls help

the Lorex 2MP PoE IP fixed bullet camera's model number is LNB3143-C
anyone have an idea how to hook it up to a LaView NVR LV-N9808C8E?

I think you're out of luck tung - sorry. You'd think that with the Lorex name and rep and price their equipment would ALL be ONVIF compliant - right? Nope. And most of their cameras only work with their boxes. (aspiring to be like Apple and Microsoft there I guess). You can go to the camera series product page and see the bad news / Compatibility Notice here: Weatherproof High Definition Night Vision IP Security Camera Series

"The cameras are only compatible with certain Lorex NVR models. The camera is not ONVIF compliant and it cannot be used without a compatible NVR. Click here for a list of compatible NVRs."

And here's the boxes the camera is compatible with (all Lorex of course) - Lorex Product Compatibility

BUT - I wouldn't give up yet - first I'd snag the Manuals and Software downloads for all of those "compatible" Lorex boxes they list, and see if maybe I could make it work with the Laview then - ya never know...

i did chat with 1 of their tech guy online. he said it is ONVIF and should work fine. gave me a PDF with specs and ONVIF was not listed anywhere. lol
i will never buy a Lorex ever again. waste of time. thanks for confirming
