Yes, pretty bad resolution. If someone did come home and those assholes had to run, they would fall flat on their face because their pants would fall down. Cheap cameras are not good.

That is possible. The Nextdoor poster mentioned the police weren't even interested in coming out to get the video, so I doubt there was any followup work done.

The homeowner and his neighbors need to show up at the police department and the next city hall meeting...that is unacceptable.

In this day and age, there is NO reason or need for the police to "come get the video".
Heck even in my little burg the police have this ability.
Post it on you tube, and text them the link.
Then post it on Facebook for someone to recognize the punks.
Every time SJPD has actually been interested in my video, they physically came and got it. I'm not a lawyer but what they told me there is a "chain of custody" rule for evidence, that means YouTube, social media etc. doesn't count for anything you may actually use in court. They do have an online incident reporting form but if you check "have video or other evidence" it immediately says "this cannot be reported online."
I would think YT, FB etc. would still be useful for background information. The officer I talked to said "we're not even allowed to look at youtube" but I don't know the context or parameters of that.

I suspect that only a few detectives working at the SJPD are allowed to look at youtube during working hours - probably also an attempt to keep employees more productive.
That's probably true. San Jose has over 1 million people. How many full-time burglary detectives would you guess they have? At least as of 2015, the answer was one.

1.5 million dollars to provide legal aid to illegal immigrants...well what do you know...no money to help taxpayers prevent burglaries, but 1.5 million to help criminals stay in the country, yup, that makes sense...actually they (the county) spend a total of 5.5 million...

We don't have that issue here really. Most of our immigrants are here because we invited them. Well, except for the ones that sneak across from your border. IMHO, you guys need to do more to legally let in humanitarian refugees as well as enforce the immigration laws you already have. Why bother having laws you don't enforce?
Those that consider themselves native Americans might eventually be outnumbered by immigrants, and possibly even homogenized because agreements, laws and signed documents were ignored. Wait, this seems familiar somehow...

We let in enough refugees and provide enough aid...what we need is to enforce the damn border...and to screen all those coming in....you can have the "refugees" ..we would be better off providing a safe zone for them in their home country...as a son of legal immigrants it's repulsive to me that folks cheat the system then spit in it's face.... they should be kissing the us soil they walk on as my parents and I do...
