Folks, I'm new the the IP game. I've searched this site far and wide for the issue I'm having and can't find any answers that have worked.

I am running a Windows 7 PC to control Blue Iris 4.

I have CAT6a throughout my house. All has been tested with a tester, each connection shows its terminated correctly on both ends. I plug in laptops to each terminated section and I get internet. So good to go.

I'm using a Dlink DIR980L router (don't get me started on why I mistakenly bought this over priced junker).

I have several Ubiquiti 8 Port w/POE Toughswitches that I've managed to set up and get working properly.

When I setup the FOSCAM FI9853EP dome cameras by themselves plugged directly into the modem - the camera being powered by the 110v wall socket, I can see picture and pipe it to my Blue Iris software.

When I plug it into the Ubiquiti switch with its 110v wall socket, same thing, I can get picture.

The moment I unplug it from the wall, go into my switch an enable the 24v POE option, I get no power, I get no picture on my Blue Iris software. So I've narrowed it down to a POE issue.

I can't for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong. Youtube typically solves all of my problems, but not this time... What do I need to be looking at? Where am I going wrong?

that is because you have the wrong poe switch or wrong settings...you need an 802.3 compliant poe switch 48v...also foscam is junk...

Yep, just figured that out when I realized this thing has a giant back door back to China. Looks like Axis cameras here I come.

Axis is way overpriced...you can stop any camera from communicating with china servers...
