win10 Logitech 9000 usb webcam in blueiris

Hi, I had this working at one point, but on my last attempt on a newer operating system, windows 10, I can't seem to get my old logitech 9000 usb camera to work. I even installed the driver software from Logitech and I can see a video preview in their app. But when I try in BlueIris 4 to add a usb camera I can select Usb and I see "Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000" prepopulated in the dropdown. However, no video feed is shown in blueiris.

Any help appreciated

Not sure you have solved this yet or if this will help but these are my settings for my Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920 running BI4 on W10:

Size 1920 x 1080
Max. rate 666667 [15.00 fps]
H.264 HW decode: Yes(no VPP)

Advanced

Video Standard: Default

Stream/Format

MJPG
1920 x 1080
30 FPS
 
My Logitech c920 just gets "No signal"
Works fine in the logitech and skype app.

I have no clue - all else works fine.

Error: 80004005 () 1006

Win10 x64

Do you have the Logitech or Skype app while you are trying to get it to show in BI? I have found that, for reasons I don't have the knowledge to discern, if the Camera is being used for any other app it won't show in BI. I found that true with the Logitech App and with Yawcam. The inverse is true also, if it is running in BI you can't get the video in the other apps. Probably something to do with the USB feed?

BI 4.5.8.5

I've tried my old settings. The settings listed above - and nothing - just that error. There is no other process running on this dedicated server that might be trying to communicate with the camera. The Logitech utilities access the camera fine.

Any pointers? I've deleted/recreated/played with output formats and settings and nada.

A couple of things to try. 1) When you go the Video portion of the camera properties and click on "Advanced" and then click on "Driver/Source" does it bring up the Logitech camera properties page, the one that is installed from Logitech? It should. Also go to the web site and make sure you have the latest Logitech software and drivers installed. 2) In the Logitech screen under "Advanced" (the Logitech one, not the BI one) make sure you have NTSC 60hz selected. 3) You might also try starting it in BI while you have the Camera running in the Logitech software. Here is the information on the Logitech drivers and software tools that I am using:

Driver Version 13.80.853.0

I am using BI 4.5.8.5
Windows 10 Pro Version 1703 OS Build 15063.413 (But I've had it running in BI on W7 Pro also.)

That's all I can think of for now. Let me know if you solve it.

Interestingly the c930 doesn't have it's own Logitech drivers - it uses generic Microsoft webcam drivers. I've searched the logitech page and there are no C930 drivers listed - just camera contraol SW and apps. So when you ckick on driver/source you get a generic page. The logitech camera control app sees the camera and video fine. "Software Support (at release) No software required. Logitech Utility Software available to control pan, tilt and zoom from your computer."

As I said - it used to work. No matter what settings I choose it doesn't work now. I have an older C910 - I may swap that out as I can still get logitech drivers for that camera.

Following up. I've swapped out the C930e for a C910 that was on another PC. Same issue: Error 80004005 () 1016. Works fine with other applications. Does not work in BlueIris regardless of the settings chosen. Drive when accessed from BI brings up the Logitech control panel.

It SHOULD work. It doesn't. Anyone have any ideas?

Try Googling 13.80.853.0 That's the Logitech driver I am using. You can get it from any of the "Driver " sites that come up. It's an old driver (2012) for a lower level camera but it's what installed when I got my C920. I don't even remember where I got it from, maybe from another Logitech camera I had. Go to your Device Manager and pull up the c920 and update the driver with the one from Logitech and see if that helps. The MS Webcam drivers may be the problem.
 
The new camera is running Logitech 13.51.823.0 driver - even older that your 13.80.xxx.xx series.

I've renewed my BI support and emailed them since I'm stuck. I will revert if they are able to fix it.

Just a thought, but maybe try a driver that is known to work?

Go into Camera Properties - then Audio tab - On the top there are 3 radio buttons, select "Other DirectShow device". Select the Microphone for your c920. Click OK.

Alternate option is to just uncheck box "Enable audio channel" at the top of Audio tab)

I got a hit that this thread was active and wanted to report that since my last post in 2017 I have been unable to get my Logitech C920 to work in BI4. It not only doesn't work but crashes BI4 when I try to add it. It wasn't a priority for me so I let BI know about it and gave them the information I had on the camera and the crashes. I just tried it again and it still crashes BI4, so I'm not sure what has happened but I think something changed in the many updates since it last worked in 2017.
 
Anyone have luck with the c920 and BI. I was going to try and set it up for keeping an eye on 3D printer.

Here are my settings for my C920. It's attached to the PC that's running BI4. BI4 is the latest updates. It only seems to want to stream at 5 fps no matter what I set the max rate. It's OK for my purposes though as it's not one of my primary feeds, just one I can pull up once in a while to see if my dog is in the room. Make sure you have the latest installation for Logitech on the computer and don't have the camera up in the Logitech app when you try and get Blue Iris to access it. For some reason it won't do both. "HD Pro Webcam C920" should come up in the drop down when you select USB. Hope this helps.

These settings aren't new. I believe many have tried over the past few years to get this camera working. I just gave up until this thread was resurrected. I added my C920 and it's working now! My guess is that the latest version of windows 10 actually fixed something or the latest upgrade to Blue Iris fixed it or a combination of both. It's just great to have this additional camera working again when I need it.

I was having the same issue with my C310 and this fixed my issue, thank you!
