Getting the hang of it
At 32.2mm in length, it likely will not fit.

Try searching for starlight f1.5 lenses. I'm not on my Pc so haven't got the links, but they're on AliExpress in the correct length in 4 and 6mm. That should match your stock lens' low light performance.thanks @dfhawk , think i'll go for this one then, next question will it effect the low illumination ?

At the end of the day, and its been said on this forum before, you should likely resale the camera and simply order the 4mm camera (especially for these new low light series cameras).
These two appear to be an identical design lens:
For sure, but when you're only talking around $10 per lens it can be worth a try (if you know what you're doing.) I've converted a 2.8mm camera to a 16mm and the results are way better than I'd hoped for. I haven't tried a lens change on the 2335, but the lens measurements I took are on here.At the end of the day, and its been said on this forum before, you should likely resale the camera and simply order the 4mm camera (especially for these new low light series cameras).
You've been caught out by Hikvision's dodgy way of quoting their camera specs. It does say Min. Illumination Color: 0.005 lux @(F1.2, AGC ON), 0 lux with IR but if you check the spec sheet closely it also says Iris F1.6 .You won't be able to find an exact match - according to the specs you want to find as close to f1.2 as possible (i.e. Min. Illumination:| Color: 0.005 lux @(F1.2, AGC ON), 0 lux with IR).
Just what is AGC ON?You've been caught out by Hikvision's dodgy way of quoting their camera specs. It does say Min. Illumination Color: 0.005 lux @(F1.2, AGC ON), 0 lux with IR but if you check the spec sheet closely it also says Iris F1.6 .
So they've actually got a f1.6 lens fitted.
I wouldn't get too hung up on the specs, I've compared a 2MP IPC-HDW5231R-Z (the much talked about hero Starlight varifocal camera in Dahua's range) and a correctly focused DS-2CD2335FWD-I can hold it's own. Something to note is Dahua show the real specs with the fitted lens, so the 5231R-Z is rated as:Yea, but if there isn't anything to turn it on or off and nothing in the setting for AGC, then what is it? When are you going to see these lux rating being implemented?
It looks like there is an IR light source coming from somewhere near the 5231? (Going by the way the tree is lit up and the path; the shadows have vanished and it's brightly lit near the centre. I found with my 5231 the IR is very concentrated in the centre of the image, so if I zoom out the edges are poorly lit in total darkness.)Speaking of the 2MP IPC-HDW5231R I did purchase one. I tried the night time in color but was not real happy with it. So I changed it to black and white. The IR was off on the color but is on for the b&w. I thought I had shut it off. Anyways here are the two pictures for comparison. The Hikvision 6mm was supposed to arrive today but was rescheduled for tomorrow. By the way this camera guards the East side of the house and I live on a 4 way intersection.
