I have a new Dahua Tribrid DVR that allows me to connect up to 4 IP cameras along with my current 8 CVI cams. Got the new Dahua Starlight 2MP IP camera in yesterday that actually belongs to the HOA and want to play with it before our contractor hooks it up to the HOA system...

Currently I use a Netgear Wireless Adapter to communicate from the DVR to the Router. From there, with my hard wired PC I can access the DVR WebGUI to manage it (or more recently use Smart PSS).

The DVR only has one Ethernet port which is occupied by the Wireless adapter.

So to run IP cams I think I need a POE switch. If that switch only has 1 uplink port ,am I correct in assuming I simply plug the wireless adapter into the uplink, Hmmm Seems I'd need a second non-POE port to go from the POE switch back to the DVR yes?

See diagram below, can you point me to an example of an inexpensive POE switch that would work?

Any port on the switch will act as an uplink port...you dont need any special port...you can use a poe port as a standard port.

Thank you sir!
