I am looking to add cameras in excess of my current NVR Capacity and need to upgrade. I am considering BI and had a few questions:

1. Anybody ever done an install with Windows Server 2012? I have a license I am not using.
2. Any idea what I would be looking at for CPU utilization with 8x 2MP Streams at, say 15FPS? I am concerned with power consumption, and I might find it cheaper to go with a newer CPU.
3. How is licensing priced? Specifically, if I want the app on 4x iOS devices, do I pay per device?

Xeons are terrible CPU's for BlueIris; you wont get any hardware acceleration so it'll load that CPU up and consume insane amounts of power.

Why wouldn't there be any hardware acceleration? As I understand it, it is Quicksync capable.

still its a 6yr old power hog; and that gpu is pathetic compared to a modern one

If you have the system you can test it, but dont buy it used...you dont need a ton of power for your demand...its sandy bridge based so wont be that bad on power, anything older will...
The app licensing is like any other app..its per account not per device...so if you have different users then yes, you will have to buy it for each one..

Since that's a Xeon with integrated graphics, it'll hardware decode just fine. My guess for CPU - interface closed - 20-25% usage, interface open 30-35%.

I've got a Xeon 1225 running BI and nine cameras. Six cameras are 720P, one is 1080P, and the other two are 4MP. CPU varies between 25% to 40% on average.
