I've been using all Dahua turrets so far but picked up a mini-dome for the garage where having a lower profile will keep it out of the way. I also wanted to test it vs a turret for the front door since I have a porch light that will be in frame.
With the IR on in a dark garage, just a small amount of finger prints on the outside of the dome caused a huge loss in contrast and other reflections. I'm guessing some of the reflections came from the white ceiling. I quickly wiped the outside of the dome with my shirt and the image improved, but not completely. I can't imagine out quickly the image quality must degrade in the dirty outdoors.
At the front door, in color mode, I found the mini-dome and turret to handle the porch light in-frame equally well and better than expected, even with a backlit subject. I didn't turn on BLC but there's enough light bouncing off the opposite wall the clearly see anyone standing there.
