I'm only buying a single DS-2CD2342WD-I and need an NVR. I want to use a spare Android tablet as a 'monitor' of sorts at my bedside. I figure I could just use an ip cam viewer app constantly on with the tablet never going to sleep. I think this should work. I may eventually want to add 3 more cams for a 4 cam system, but for now the one will be enough. A lot of the hikvision NVR have 5mp and 3mp modes. How does this work considering the DS-2CD2342WD-I is 4mp? Or have I been looking at the wrong NVR? Budget secondary to features. Thanks.

DS-7604NI-E1/4P supports up to 6MP. You're not going to get anything for less than that to suit your needs.
I'm OK paying more for an NVR if the features are there. will I find this one lacking in any areas? I ordered that one based on your recommendation. Thank you
