What's your opinion on cameras *inside* the home?

Getting the hang of it

I have about ~9 cameras (so far) in my home and when we have guests / parties at least one person seems to comment on them in every occasion. I really don't see the big deal or even notice that they are there. I plan on installing about 9 more as only half the house is covered at the moment.

With a plethora of laborers, friends, family, neighbors, always coming in and out of the house - I really don't see the big deal. There have been several occasions we have had to revert back to them.

I don't see an issue with cams inside if done tastefully. I have two, one watching the living room/front door.
And another watching over the sunroom and back door.
Nobody sees' the video but me and my wife. Or the Police if something happens.

I've got one inside that overlooks out walkout basement door. If someone breaks it it is a good shot.

I have some in our attic- and one on the 3D printer. Not like in any living space.
I have three in my house. One aimed at the walkout basement door, and another from a different angle in the basement covering the bottom of the stairs and that same basement entry door. I have another cam upstairs-- a really cheap Amcrest indoor ptz I bought just to test it. It's still running-- but I'd never buy another one of those. The ptz is default aimed at the back entryway of main level of the house and the upper part of the stairs to the basement. It also catches the sliding patio door. Anyone coming in my house will be recorded entering. I don't care what they might think.

Exactly, it's your house, I don't give a flip of what someone thinks about my indoor cams. BUT 99.9% of folks never notice them.

Cameras are EVERYWHERE anymore. I crack up at people who are offended about my cameras. I explained just the other day about being tracked everywhere they go, and having cameras tracking them everywhere they go.
Nope, nope, nope... that's what they said. I asked them if they had a phone? Yep Iphone... Apple is tracking you everywhere you go, 24/7... use Siri? Yep. Apple is listening to everything being said around the phone 24/7.

Use your car? Yep... The new black boxes in car track you anytime the vehicle is running. Use your GPS/map? Yep... Google, etc.. tracks everything you do.
Walk down the street? Chances are either a private home and/or the city is tracking you every step.

This person said, no they don't. I said goodbye.

I heard that the default "keyboard" on pixel phones is also a key-logger harvesting info for ads....

I have cameras inside and keep them all on a VLAN so none of them can reach the outside world. They have no internet access and no access to browse the network.

We have a few, Each of the kids rooms upstairs ( Both are single digits old ) and the common play area upstairs. The only other one is in the kitchen but wife turned it away because she doesn't like "feeling watched" even after nearly 2 decades.
I don't have an issue with it, but i get when people don't want to feel watched in their own home. I guess. id rather have em but pick the battles.
